Yes, they are making way for the new Ford ranger, electric and hybrid modelLooks like Ford will shut the 2023 Ranger order books next week on Jan 26th. I assume thats to retool for the next gen 2024 model, apparently they learned a lesson from the Maverick disaster and if you put a 2023 Ranger order in and they don't get to it before they shut the line down you are on your own.... (no discount for next years model).

Seems odd that they didn't give you a new build date....just left you hanging.I just received this in my email a few moments ago.

Hey, talk about timing, I just this evening got my second "dear John" letter from Ford lamenting how long it is tacking and once again reinforcing how sorry they are that 90 days have passed since my order was accepted. The incredible price increases of basic, average day to day vehicles is a whole universe of issues on its own. The wife's best friend's husband unfortunately happens to be the president of the local Tesla owner's club. I am in no way sold on EVs, however I recognize they do work for some folks. I am just not one of them. Whenever Mr. President and I git into a "debate" about the EVs versus ICE vehicles topic, I ask him how are all of these folks who can barely afford a $3000 beater to get back and forth to work in are going come up with 65 grand for a Tesla. The subject gets changed and the debate is over.I totally agree with you sir.
and as we wait for our builds, we also understand product shortages, etc. etc. but as I’ve also pointed out is that the shortages have come to pretty much a stabilization.
But again, Ford still continues to put out their fleet vehicles over and over for two over regular customers.
know if you look at Ford as a whole any of their vehicles, most of which are priced way out of low income or middle income prices. I don’t know about you but to be able to afford a 70 or $80,000 truck or vehicle electric or not you would still need to make close to $14,000 a month to be able to afford a payment I’m saying $11-$1600 a month. Most of these vehicles are priced so far out that they’re practically mortgage payments for a lot of people. Ford originally started out manufacturing vehicles in a big way to every day people now they’re resorting to targeting only high income individuals
Seems odd that they didn't give you a new build date....just left you hanging.

I honestly don’t know why they even bother taking orders if they cannot fulfill them in a timely manner
Congratulations! Your order moved fast to production and to finish line. What do you think made your order fast? Thanks.Oh, for crying out loud the tracker states that it’s built as of January 18th now!!!!!

I would wager to guess your dealer's size and allocations may very well play into how fast it all happens.Congratulations! Your order moved fast to production and to finish line. What do you think made your order fast? Thanks.
well, after doing research before ordering my ranger, I found out the components for the Ford 360 copilot as well as the auto stop start removal as well as the 4G LTE hotspot removal. Removing those items I was under the impression that it would move my vehicle along. I guess I was rightCongratulations! Your order moved fast to production and to finish line. What do you think made your order fast? Thanks.
to be honest with you, my dealer size is not too big. But when I place the order. after doing the research on what was holding the Rangers up I remove the copilot 360 I remove the auto start stop and remove the 4G LTE. I placed my order at the dealership by the time I got home I had an email with the Vin number lol, I even called my dealer to tell them and they were surprised that I even got a priority code 10 right off the bat.I would wager to guess your dealer's size and allocations may very well play into how fast it all happens.
I think it is about setting expectations.I honestly don’t know why they even bother taking orders if they cannot fulfill them in a timely manner
Been a few of those folks here.Heck, who was it that canceled their order because they found the truck they wanted on a lot somewhere?
