  1. How much weight can a closed tailgate support across it

Thanks for all the replies. Really like the home built supports with the carpet treads, seriously over engineered just like I unusually end up doing !!!!! My old 2002 Ranger had a steel tailgate, a little worried about the aluminum one on the 2023 but it looks like I should be fine....... But...
  2. How much weight can a closed tailgate support across it

Looking to haul about 4 sheets of 4x8 plywood in the 6 foot bed of my 2023 Ranger. I was hoping to transport it with the tailgate up to keep it from sliding out the back. I have searched all of Ford's documentation but can't find any mention of how much weight the tailgate can support across...
  3. Ford performance oil separator issue

I found that if you use something like a PEX cutter and cut the lower tube about 6 or 8 inches from the bottom connection you don't have to fight the tube as much . I just used a small flat blade screwdriver to pry apart the connector. Not too bad of a job once you figure out a strategy...
  4. Engine Cover Kit Discontinued??

Does this come with mounting hardware included.
  5. Is it just me, or am I missing something

The windshield appears to be fine. Actually solid and even and square all around, very good workmanship , fit and finish. I just thought that for 36 grand they could have splurged on 3 bucks worth of plastic trim to finish it off. Thanks for putting my mind at ease none the less.
  6. Is it just me, or am I missing something

Gave my one week old Ranger SCAB XLT its first wax and detail this weekend. That's when I noticed that I have no trim between the windshield and the A-pillar. The seam where the windshield is bonded to cab is naked to the world. I know that for decades that windshields have been "glued" in...
  7. Unleaded 88 vs. unleaded 87

A dirt track racing fan here. A young driver from my town thought he had a great idea by filling up the racecar "a small block Chevy" with 110 octane AV Gas from the local airport. It was way cheaper than the 97 octaine they sold at the speed shop or at the track. He usually ran pretty good but...
  8. Support group for those waiting for their MY23 Ranger

After seven months I took delivery of my beautiful Cactus Grey Scab XLT on Friday June 2nd. The delivery process was exceptional. My dealer, Gentilni Ford in Woodbine NJ , provided me with an exceptional dealer experience. My original price quote was honored no question asked in spite of a 1000...

Would you believe ! My Cactus Grey XLT SCAB RWD that I ordered on October 21 finally went in to "production" on May 12th and this morning my status was updated to "built" as of May 16th. This evening , May 17th, at 9:30 PM I received the standard "Dear John" letter from Ford proclaiming that "as...
  13. Support group for those waiting for their MY23 Ranger

I was able to print my window sticker 2 or 3 days after I was moved to "In Production". My blend date is 5/11/2023 . Wonder how close we are to the last ones off the line. They probably are not building too many more RWD Super Cabs like mine. Looks like there is a good chance I might take...
  14. Support group for those waiting for their MY23 Ranger

I have been monitoring my order status daily for the last week or so. My build week has been constantly changing from week of 5-12 to week of 5-10 or week of 5-9. I just checked and it changed again to 5-11 but it is now checked off as "in production". No window sticker available yet but after...
  15. What's the deal with Toyota order process.

My experience with our local Toyota Dealers is they are all &%^$s . The attitude they give off is pretty much " so you think you want to buy a Toyota do you, well that's going to cost you". They are elitist snobs who think their $%!T doesn't stink. In my career I was a road warrior that burned...

  17. Catalytic converter failed at 45k miles

Octane booster or some other fuel additive used in excess amounts was my first thought. A buddy of mine owns an excellent exhaust and brake shop and I remember him talking about "how cheap" they make everything now and he has seen brand new Catalytic Converters just fall apart inside due to...
