I have a coworker that insists the Ranger 4 cylinder boosted engine will blow up within 500 miles with a 7000 pound trailer being towed.

He’s actually a pretty smart person. Can anyone share some real world experience?

I have real word experience with coworkers. They are usually idiots... Same with bosses which is why I don't work for myself.
Can't help with the trailer towing though. Sorry.

I have zero problems towing my 7000 pound dump trailer loaded. I guess he thinks Ford engineers are dumb. I heard all the smart people have left California.

That explains why the TFL guys kept it under 500 miles in their test, iirc they actually bought the Ranger. They maybe smarter than they look?

Smart people usually explain their reasoning. What was his?

I think there's plenty of us that tow heavy that if it were a problem, you'd have heard by now.

I'm nowhere near the 7000# mark, but towing a big wind sail travel trailer is going to be harder on the truck, long-distance, than towing a flatbed with 7000#'s of weight on it, just due to fighting the air constantly.
