I have been calling the the CSX "touch tone" line to get status of the railcar that has my Ranger in it daily. I mean cmon its 2023, you have to call and punch in a bunch of #s to find where your railcar is as opposed to getting a status from an internet site? Reminds me of the 90s when I would call in and punch a bunch of numbers to find what specific stock prices closed at. You would think after decades of government subsidy to the railroad industry they would have used some of the $ to improve the location status.

Wow, congrats to those who's orders are moving along.

Order confirmed 10-21 ... ,crickets for me !
I ordered my Supercab 2wd XLT with the 301 package on 10/20. Got my confirmation in less than 24 hours. At 45 days out I got the " we know it is taking too long" Dear John letter. And since then nothing either. I thought I might at least get a Happy Holidays email from the dealer/sales rep. at Christmas but not even that. At least it is some small comfort that I am not the only one left out in cold.

Update on the truck for those who were wondering... When I dropped it off at the dealer it was for 2 things - water leaking in onto passenger floor and the hvac fan whistled when it was on.

I got 4 pages of what they did back from the dealer... Summarized - they removed the entire dash to reassemble the blower fan housing. And they added more sealent to the outside cowling to prevent it from leaking anymore.


It hasn't rained any since I picked it up, but in my garden house drench tests, it isn't leaking. But the whistling is gone, and I don't have any dash squeaks, yet...

So I just checked in with chat and the new status was “ Ranger is in transit and has arrived at a mixing center and is available for unloading. Railcar #NKCR007125”. They also said the location of the mixing center was MAP. When I call CSX they say it has been in Chicago clearing Illinois since Jan 5 with no ETA. Not sure what to do with all the information. Ship date was 1/1.

I just did a cursory look, Norfolk southern had an interactive map that had tons more detail compared to csx...

The Bronco tracking threads sometimes have maps or links to spreadsheets where they've compiled a list of all the different rail things for everyone's benefit...

It is apparent that Ford will be moving over to 2024 Ranger production on May 1, 2023. I would not be surprised to see the 2022 order bank shut off soon. I'm also wondering if all 2022 orders will be fulfilled and whether they will be offering incentives to switch to a 2024 for unfulfilled orders.

And it's CSX. Worst of the entire bunch. It'll get there eventually. Matter of fact "priority rush" in the CSX world means "eventually." Once mine ever ships it will be on NS. Fingers crossed they have their normal "better than CSX" performance. We'll see.

Hang in there man. It'll get there. And you'll be driving in style!
