Was gonna say, they're probably selling less Rangers because you can't get the things, they're not building them.
Friday before Christmas I closed our office, not because I wanted a 4 day weekend but the weather went to $#!t and I figured if I wreck my truck I can't get another one. My secretary totaled her car last year (and still suffering some aftereffects) and had a hell of a time finding a new vehicle.

It's funny how you think a lot more now with all these shortages and high prices. I don't do a lot of wheeling anymore because I'm nervous if I end up breaking something I won't be able to find parts for it. It's our only vehicle right now and I can't afford to be without my truck so I tend to use my head more now than before.

I think being made in the same plant as the bronco really hurt. Ford is desperately trying to fix the bronco rollout debacle and the ranger just got kicked to the curb.
You can't sell what you do not manufacture.

Wife totaled her old Town & Country a couple months ago in a chain reaction pile up. Kids are grown and gone but when you have two 80+ pound dogs you need a minivan. New Pacificas were few and far between and used ones almost non-existent. Went to Enterprise sales place, they had ONE Dodge Caravan but it had a lot less equipment than she's used to. They found a Pacifica in Chicago and shipped it to Pittsburgh but all their vehicles now have 70,000 miles instead of the 30k they used to sell. Enterprise guy is like, "Hey, we can't get new vehicles either so we have to keep them longer."

That's why the Mav is such a hit. How many post here do you see where they're complaining the bed sides are to high? Most have trouble reaching over them to grab things but the Maverick will be much easier to reach in and grab your stuff without having to climb into the bed from the tailgate.
My daughter has a Maverick and it is much wider and lorger than my 2005 SCab Ranger. My bed is longer, but over all the Maverick is bigger. The hood is massively wide! The Maverick is lower. Bed level is about the same height and depth. I like the styling and size of my 2005 better than the Maverick.

Things are changing, and we best prepare for them now, before we find ourselves between a rock and a hard place. Take a peek at Long beach port in LA. It is largely empty
Then take a look off the coast of China... all these gray dots are container ships in long term storage. This was taken last week.

Maverick is okay for some people if you can deal with the smaller bed. Should be okay with the optional bed extender. The 2wd XL is also the lowest priced Ford vehicle in the USA. I had two Sport Tracs before, both with the bed extender, and with that they were okay for hauling most stuff. Maverick is essentially a smaller Sport Trac. My kids are grown and gone and I no longer need a full back seat and I'd rather have a longer bed.

I'm guessing that aggregate demand is down. Prices go up, people buy less. Law of economics.
If my siggy quote didn't give it away, one of my degrees is in economics.

To late, sadly we already are. We've been hooked on cheep Chinese junk for years now and our own leaders (big business) have sold us out in favor of cheap labor. Inflation is sky high and stores are still raising prices yet most every large corporation has been posting record profits! Things are going to get much worse too with all these large tech companies paying off hundreds some thousands of people now. Yesterdays stock market uptick was a joke! Those increased numbers were just the holiday jobs which happens every year. The CPI index is a joke because it doesn't factor in the 2 main things, food and energy. Hmmm I wonder why?

This article is an eye opener as to the jobs being cut. Amazon will be cutting 18,000 jobs, Cisco 700, Google possibly 10,000 and HP 4,000-6000 just to name a few.

I thinking we are looking at another 2008, but this time the can won't be kicked down the road. Expect possible bank holidays and "Bail Ins". I think we are approaching a waterfall event that will last until the early 2030's. Recovery will not be quick this time around. I hope I am wrong....

We are hearing rumors that IBM will be laying off heavily in 1st qtr 2030. All corporates are heavily leveraged on inexpensive low interest rate loans, and as interest rates rise and they roll over short term debt they get into trouble very quickly. They are all overpriced on the stock market by a factor of 10x from the norm. I've been out of the markets since 2008 and have been patiently waiting for the crash before investing. Buy when there is blood on the floor.... and not before.

Yeah I'm hoping I'm wrong too but the days of free (0%) money are gone for a very long time. Unless we have another major recession I can't see the Feds lowering rates anytime soon. It took 20+ years to get here we're not going to lower inflation in 1 year like some like to think.

I saw the writing on the wall and pulled everything out in June of '08. Stuck it all in a money market account and road it out until early '09 and jumped back in and did great up until 18 months or so ago. I pulled it all back out again and have been sitting on the sidelines waiting now for the inevitable. I'm way to close to retiring now and no way am I going to lose it and start over. I'd rather have a few flat years and preserve my capital throw it all away to the wolves of Wall Street!

This is a different type of inflation. It should be but it is not from money printing or spending... at least not yet. That shoe will drop soon enough. In my estimation, the inflation that we are seeing is from shortages and supply chain issues. And those are not going away anytime soon....for lots of reasons that I do not want to get into here.

When all the overseas dollars flood back into the US as the Swift System fails (from the BRICS creating a competing system), all hell is going to break loose in the US. At least 60% of all US dollars are circulating overseas... and over 80% of all $100 bills are overseas. There are now more US $100 bills in circulation than $1 bills.

Food for thought.
