Had an unexpected 800mi+ round trip with more than 14 hrs seat time in the span of 37 hrs.
My wife decided to visit a friend in PA and asked if I wanted to take the Edge or the Ranger. Well of course you know what I said, to which she replied, I'd rather drive the Edge. I told her not to worry about it, I have it covered. I never get enough time driving the Ranger, so this was an opportunity for a road trip with it.
One stop on the way there for a pit stop and fuel after about 4 hrs on the road. If it wasn't for the wife needing to stop, I would have tried to make the whole 6 hr, 400 mi trip in one shot. The seat was that comfy and I was just knocking down the miles.
The ride back was a little longer with pit stop, fuel and food stop but just as enjoyable.
Saw about 15 older Rangers but only 4 5G's. That's about typical whenever we are on a trip, those early Rangers just keep going, must have been a great engineer working on those!
Fuel prices were about $.50 more in PA than when I filled up before we left and what's up with the 93 being lower priced than 87?

Averaged better than 25mpg on the gauge doing 70 for probably more than 1/2 of those miles and through the mountains. Will calculate actual when I fill up next. Edit - calculated 23.8 so about 1.4 mpg off the displayed mileage. I'll have to find how to adjust that now.

And turned 20k mi on the way there. Only took 3 yrs.

Quality time spent in the Ranger! Will have to start planning the next road trip.

Always nice to make a road trip. KJ, now the wife will want to take the truck next time without hesitation. I too find the seats comfortable on a long trip.

We went out for a New Years lunch at Manuel's. It's a local Mexican restaurant and they still give you a good meal for a decent price. Got my usual chimichanga and we split a fried ice cream for desert. All that with unlimited chips & salsa and I was ready to explode. ? Didn't feel like driving up to the lake so we walked 1.75 miles around the Goodyear rec centers outside track. Hope you all have a safe and happy New Years!?

We don't eat like this much but seeing as its New Years it was a good excuse.? We pretty much eat chicken, fish and salads and after tomorrow (we're going to an afternoon party) it's back to rabbit food for us too.??
