I take it that what you call "dual-cabs" are what we in N.Am. call a "crew cab" (i.e. four-doors & adequate seating for 5)?I test drove a Hilux (The Aussie equivalent to your Tacoma) and hated it. Bad seating and $15k more at $75kAud. For a base model. Drove the ranger and loved it. The 3.2 litre turbo Diesel engine had plenty of grunt and it was so comfortable to drive.
I paid $60kAud for a 2021 shadow black XLT with spray in bedliner, black alloys and chrome roll bar.
The ranger has also won Australia’s most popular dual cab in 2019 and 2020.
Every second dual cab you see on the roads here in Oz are Rangers.
