My Ranger will lock and unlock doors but will not start engine with the app. You all got any ideas.

Does it give any particular message ?
Your cell phone and the vehicle must have good cell service for it to work. The Ranger uses the AT&T network which is spotty in my area .
You of course need to long press the start icon on the app for it to receive the signal also .

Wife had same issue yesterday. Today it worked. Who knows...
This has happened before & I expect to encounter same issue in the future.
It seems to work 95% of the time.

I was frustrated with the ford pass app and remote start. Went to 12voltsolutions and got a remote start. Plugged in behind the OBD port and 20 seconds of programming and done. Works very well.

The Ford Pass App is an instrument of Satan. I frig'n hate it. I'm sure there are some whiz-bangs out there who love it, but it has never worked for me without persistent issues that plague it with mind numbing regularity. That aside; I've read that getting the FOMO security upgrade for the Ranger $194.11 (Sold through Levittown Ford -https://www.levittownfordparts.com/part-ymm/2019-ford-ranger-security-system.html ) will not only give you full function security, but also includes a remote start from 300' away. I'm sure the cost of "Dealer installation and activation required" probably carries an additional heavy fee, and might not be an incentive though..

The app works over the ATT cellular network.

Since ATT can be spotty in my area, I've had differing results based on where the truck is parked.

If I park in the turnaround at my house, it works every time.

If I park in front of the garage, I get a 50/50 chance of it working.

My truck has the remote start fob so I rarely use the app.

Things to Try:
1. Ensure you have latest (App-Update)
2. Log out and log back into APP
3. Re-Power your Phone - I think this will cure it

Did everything mentioned above. Including a hard restart of the computer. Get the “warning:vehicle failed to start. Reinstalled the app

My app would not start the truck from the back bedroom but works fine from the front rooms. Might be a distance issue?

Another thing to try, I did not see it done yet.
Resync your phone to the truck, connect via cable, let truck see it and authorize the phone
I would have to get in the owner's manual for specifics, but it tells you how to do it
You should have had to do this to set up the Ford Pass App when you first got the truck
If you have already done this, then I'm out of options for easy fixes
You're looking for the set up that has you input code from truck sync screen to your phone, plus authorize truck to connect via Bluetooth
I think there are Help Video's on the Ford Website on this as well
I believe the main issue is your phone is not authorized by your truck to perform remote start and needs to be (Re-Authorized)

Another thing to try is clearing out your phones search history (Google and Safari) (Iphone)

Distance shouldn't be a problem unless you have spotty cell service. With the Ford Pass App, I can access the truck from 100 miles away.
