My Ranger SCAB Lariat parked next to another Ranger SCAB XLT. Sorry about the park job as it looks like both of us went to Tracy's school of parking.:turkey:

Why I oughta... !

The wife and I try to do at least 100-200km drives on the weekends. We're coming from the city, and if you plan your route well, you can drive most parts of the Province, without touching the highway. I love driving the secondary and back roads. Less traffic, some challenging roads, and great scenery.

Edit, yes that is my mother in law's car, yes it is 10+ years old, and yes everyone is safe, better my driveway than litterally any where else, (her driveway, the highway, etc) Yes only damage was her car, the entire fire dept was prepping for halloween candy and arrived in 5 minutes.

Yes my toddlers are a bit anixous about it. but all is well.

not quite sure, she wasn't having engine issues, we think a bunch of leaves got under the hood, (she parks under a huge oak tree) and then the voltage regulator decided to die. That created enough fire to get others things burning, I know a radiator hose popped. and in one picture you can see red oil running down out from under the car. (transmission) . 12 years of dirt grime, oil, etc a bunch of leaves, and it all went up.

When it first started I started opening up the hood, I popped the inside latch and went to get the outside latch, and saw open flames in front of the radiator. at that point we called 911, as I was not going to try and save her car, and my closest fire extingushier was in my camper closed up for the winter. (we have another inside the house, but I am not sticking my hands into flames to pop a latch.)

a few minutes later there was a pop and hiss as the radiator sprayed and everything died down. only to get started again.

Glad everyone are ok, that’s most important.

Car burning it’s a game of seconds and right decisions have to be made.
How I know? I had Audi Quattro. Was driving alone, suddenly smoke coming inside, outside, engine died after struggling. I was lucky that day and unbelievable, but we fixed Audi and I drove with burn smell in car for a long time. It was a good car, saved me from two crashes after that.
took a look last night as insurance still hadn't had it towed yet. Where I saw flames was right above the alternator. however the worst to burnned items are the air filter box, (it's nothing but slag), and the battery. I am also wondering if the battery also didn't go. as the battery case is melted and I can see some lead cells melted down.

That fire got very hot. very quickly.

Replica Esso/Imperial gas station in Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia. We've driven by this place many times, and today we decided to stop in. The collector was happy to talk about his collection. He said many people stop by, and from time to time, the odd person stopped because they assumed it was a real gas station.
