Will the weight of the damper fix the design flaw of the bed being too high? Or can it exert downward force enough to correct that design flaw? Just wonderin'.

Aside from the constant banter on here over the damper, I honestly do really like mine.

Very handy to just pop the handle and let the tailgate drop.

Once my truck arrives I'm thinking if getting a tailgate damper. Just to be able to come here and post that I installed it!!!!!!!!!

I may have been duped into attending one though.

Here is my take on the whole subject. I ordered the TGD on amazon and swapped out my FX4 front shocks with them. Then, I put the FX4 shocks on the tail gate.

It fixed many problems, including the misaligned body panels.

HOW ABOUT BRAND QUALITY ON TAILGATE STRUT ASSIST??
Do not have a dee zee syrut assist. I have some amazon cheaper priced product. Open my tailgate 4 to 10 times daily. It seems to be dropping quicker than normal only after 5, 6 months. Are the deezees better quality? The amazon one seems to be ok, but....i dont think it will make it to see the new year

Eli, You didn't but a DeeZee? Mine has been on for 3 years now and works just like the day I installed it. Sure my left arm (see pic above ) has some atrophy but it's a small price to pay for quality. Just like most things in life you get what you pay for.?
