I think this is a great idea! My gate taking 23 minutes to go down is so satisfying.

This honestly reminds me of a scene from the show Rick and Morty. The first 16 seconds are all you need here. It does have one swear word, but if you’ve ever seen a PG movie, I think you can handle it.
Slow ramp deployment scene
Back in my day, dampers were made of wood!

Can’t believe Dave (@AzScorpion) hasn’t jumped in here yet. Where are you when we need your wisdom and guidance?
install it upside down and it will counteract the other damper, net zero effect. Just like they were never there....or will it only open or close to half way And just stay there? Inquiring minds need to know! So little time, sooooo many damper threads. ?

Nope, I put out fires for 34 years, a sense of humor is a must.
Like you, i also extinguished fires, specked out fire apparatus, helped set up our 800 mhz radio system, supervised our fire dispatchers while learning to dispatch as well. Did all that in 23 years. Then I returned after retirement to dispatch part time and also passed the test to receive 911 calls. Did all that plus being a Public Service Assistant part time for the St Johns County Sheriff's Office for 10 years.

I NEEDS MY DAMPER!!! ?

I’ll hold off on the dual until I see a few Dyno runs showing it improves HP over the single setup.
