Looks like this is the difference:
"Our Black Series features a 1 Year Warranty on the coating and a 3 Year Warranty on the exhaust components."

It's a truck, not a contestant in the Concourse de Elegance. I get it that we paid a lot for these trucks and it is literally the most expensive vehicle I've ever bought, but still. Nit picking it the tiniest of issues and questioning the quality of the whole truck? That's a bit of a prissy assumption.

Take it off road and use it for what it was meant for, it will have more cosmetic imperfections from one trip of standard use than your welding spatter.

Or... If you are truly looking for a flawless show truck, then you already know you are going to have to put in a ton of time and elbow grease to get any production vehicle up to that level of detail and this is just one of those things you need to touch up.

Buy a Tesla, no muffler to look at problems solved
You mean rent a Tesla? You can never truly buy and own a Tesla as you have the potential to be sued if you try to modify it. It's written in the contract when you go to "buy" one.

You have mentioned this before.
Can we see something in hard copy on that because my googlefoo comes up empty trying to fact check this.

No instead you get fit and finish problems every where else?. I don’t own one but a friend of mine got one last year and he showed me all the fit and finish issues he had - which he said was consistent with what he read up.

I don't know about that but my son in law has a Tesla and he really likes it, I know one thing that Tesla is really quick mash the pedal and hang on.

Funny how this turned into a Telsa thread - OK my 2 cents - 25K to unlock the software for Self Driving mode - used to be 10K - that's a scam!

My friend does enjoy his Tesla too - especially with gas prices now. Yes - it is stinking fast when you mash the pedal. I honestly got a little motion sick when he kept doing that to show how instant that power was. But I still want a spare tire in my trunk - I was surprised they didn’t have one. Sorry to the OP about this swerving to a Tesla thread!
Enjoy the Ranger and forget about the messy welding.

Geez Jon, that’s a pretty minor thing to be concerned about. You should really be focusing your concern on the apparent design flaw that’s been brought to our attention.
