I'll acknowledge the Hankooks got me through some icy roads in Oklahoma and snow in Eastern Oregon as I brought my truck home from Georgia in February last year. Yeah, they were slightly better than most all seasons on my other vehicles. BUT compared to a dedicated snow tire. We are talking apples to oranges. I run Nokian snow tires on my Ranger and can usually get up and over snowy passes with only engaging 4WD at the top mile or two of the pass. This truck is more unstoppable with proper snow tires than my Subarus are with their snow tires. Although the Nokians are by far the best snow tire I've used (and I've tried about 6-8 different popular ones).
Snow performance of the 'kooks reminds me of a decent quality, not even good, all season passenger car tire.
There are plenty of AT tires that are great in the snow. You don't even have to go with a dedicated snow tire. But of course that will give you the best performance.
