Ford OEM Bed Lights

Since its a few years in now, is their any benefit to using the Ford OEM bedlights for a 21 Ranger? I was going to get the dealer to install them, but my home dealer now quoted me 4 to 5 hours of labor. A remote dealer said maybe 2 hours, but no guarantee, so I guess I am doing the install myself.

Any feedback?

2-2.5 hours with a drop-in liner. Maybe more if cutting the bed steel, due to anti-corrosion prep. A poster mention the trouble he had, having his dealer do the install. They drilled too far and the drill left "dent" marks on the outer bed skin. If you have the tools and time, I recommend you do it yourself. The instructions are good, but you can just use zip-ties to get the wiring to the engine bay, if you follow the wiring harness which is already there. Neater and cleaner.

I think mine were one hour labor, but I had to remove the hard tonneau. Four or five hours? You are getting boned.

Wow - that’s way too much! @quangdog just posted a bed light diy video - no drilling, no cutting, no removing anything, and very easy to follow.

Thanks for all the replies. So if you had them to install today would you do the OEM ones or would you do LED strips, switch and run the power back to the battery?
