Engine Cover Kit Discontinued??

ok, I've been following this tread and is seems to boggle my mind all the way around......I have an engine cover even though I had to buy it after I bought the truck so I'm not too worried......BUT.....what is involved to fix the actual issue?...does Ford replace the corroded parts?....I assume for sure this would be covered under the Ford warranty? (Even though this guy is having trouble getting it fixed under warranty)....I would take it to every Ford dealer within my area yelling and screaming until they fixed it under warranty.......but they will need to replace the failing parts first and not just slap a foam cover on right??!

What Walter has described has nothing to do with reality. Given he was willing to post the dealer and service advisor names, I suspect the dealer is not being honest with him, or he has serious misunderstood what they are telling him.

The TSB is flagged when an engine misfire is logged and an MIL displayed. The tech finds water in the spark plug well or corrosion of the ignition components in that well (spark plug boot, spark plug damage, etc.). The TSB says to put a cover on the engine that exhibits this condition (to keep the water out of the well).

There is no mention of head damage if the TSB is not followed, because there is no chance of head damage happening.

There is an epic misunderstanding between Walter and the dealer, or Walter has a pretty good chance of interesting the CA Attorney General in some serious criminal charges.

Now I’m even confused. So they just now fixed that rusted out area in the pic you showed us in this thread and are giving you the truck back?

Walter, what you just described needs to be taken to the CA BAR, because the only explanation of your posted sequence of events is the dealer is crooked.

You owe it to every other Ford owner in the Morgan Hill vicinity to file a complaint with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair (they have an online complaint form).

the damaged part was replaced a couple weeks ago. While replacing the cylinder head, some coolant lines got damaged. I just refused to pick up the pickup because of the warranty issue. I didn't want to pay the 40%.

Walter, what you just described needs to be taken to the CA BAR, because the only explanation of your posted sequence of events is the dealer is crooked.

You owe it to every other Ford owner in the Morgan Hill vicinity to file a complaint with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair (they have an online complaint form).

I'm still not sure this is over. It really does appear that the warranty has a nuance that allows TSB 21-2147 casual part: 21022A68 code: 68 to void your powertrain and Extended warranties. I'm not sure the dealership isn't paying the 40%, just to get me to go away

The reason I thought it was because of recent events , because the engine cover has always been the "Grey Poupon" of the forum , then the engine cover gets popular and sells out , then the cover is "discontinued" from FORD ...THEN comes Walter with the "Cover voids your warranty " thread , seemed like bullshit , like something I would try ...
