Couple of key quotes from that article...

The White House is proudly touting that Colorado is one in a dozen states now selling gas for under $4 a gallon – while that claim is true, it’s also deceptive.

There are only a handful of stations in the entire state selling gas that cheap. Most of them are on a single exit off I-25 in northern Colorado.

Realy Joe?

Yes sir, a gas war," said Nav Singh who owns the Phillips 66 in Firestone.

He wanted us to watch as he lowered his gas prices even lower. He said he's probably losing money on gas at this point, but he wants the customers.

Probably?

How much gouging is everybody else doing?

Seriously don't need you guys posting cheap gas prices with us Californians thinking 6 bucks is pretty good on premium.
Cry me a river?

Don't like living in a shithole state?

Move.

Just not here.

QuickTrip is expanding it's territory into Colorado. They opened along my commute to work. They are the 4th gas station on the corner. That's right, 4 gas stations on one corner, it's just off the interstate.

Well, this ignited a gas war that I've been taking advantage of for a bit. Filled up this morning and figured I'd share.

If anybody needs gas along I-25 in Colorado, exit at highway 119 Longmont/Firestone for a deal.
No TopTier sticker. Hard pass. Trying to put the best gas in that I can. That's a hell of a good price these days though.

If some made up marketing standard is important to you there is a Phillips 66, a CITGO fueled 7-11, and the aforementioned QT on the same corner participating in the gas war. The Circle K I used was simply the most convenient of the 3.

at least its not $2.17 - $2.47 Can. back in BC today. I feel like i am stealing gas today.
Looks like we‘re going below $1.50 in Northern Alberta, gotta be the first time in recorded history that gas has gone down significantly rolling into a long weekend.

If I'm really choosing between gas and gas with additives that might make my engine (especially a DI engine) last a little longer, I'm choosing the latter.

91 grade is not common at NC gas stations but refilled with 93 yesterday at $4.34/gal. That is down from the $5.12/gal prices a few months back
93 E0 is available all along I-40 across NC. I bought 93 E0 in Maiden, NC (not available in Charlotte since early 2018) a couple of weeks back for $6.79.9. Priced as 'Recreational Fuel' unfortunately. 93 E10 seems to be around $4.71 (state wide average).

Since 'no name' 93 E0 has a bare minimum detergent package, I add Lucas Fuel Treatment to every other tank. My vehicles typically refuel every other month.

I thought I said in the OP that was this morning?

Also, I think you meant pre 46. Gas was quite cheap for most of the Covid hysteria.
You definitely did say it was this morning. That was pretty standard pre covid to be around $3 on the east cost. I liked the $1.50 or so during covid. AZ is adopting the CA gas prices lately. 4.18 today for me.
