Decided to revamp my rear seat delete wiring, mainly from having connections on the hatch underside (first photo is old in work progress) to centralizing everything to the bottom base frame on both sides. I also built a new base from using 1x4 instead of 2x4 to thin it out a bit. The floor mounted wiring isn't changing. The wire organization when I am done is going to be a work of art.

22 Fused connections
22 Relays
2 Air Flow Fans
3 110v connections
7 USB connections
36 One Direction Channels
18 Output Channels
Additional Grounding Block Positions
Single 4 AWG to four way 4/8/10 AWG Central Power Distribution Block

I don't care if that cover doesn't do a darn thing. I really like how the engine bay looks now.
Looks good!

which extender is this?

does it say if it has a weight limit? For example if you had something longer that angled over the top with weight on the top of extender?

I've been using this for a while now and this snow foam works really good Steve. I'm not sure how your water is there but here it's very hard water so I use distilled water in the foam cannon when mixing mine. 3 oz of the snow foam soap to 16 oz of water seems to be about the perfect ratio to start with. Plus the Honeydew smells so good you'll be hungry after washing your truck. lol

Thanks. Our water here isn't bad. I'll start with 3 oz then as well.

I bought it on amazon.
ADI OFF ROAD Truck Bed Extender for 2019-2022 Ford Ranger, 2001-2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, 2022 Ford Maverick
It doesn't specify a rated weight limit for that purpose. I wouldn't recommend using it in this manner.

It's made by Amp. I have this same one, I like it better than the "official" Ford accessory ( also made by Amp) because it is squared and covers the whole tailgate. The other is triangle shaped...for lack of better description, made more for sqeezing in a bicycle or dirt bike.

I don't recall a weight limit in the manual but I have done what you are asking. Ive stacked long boxes w/ heavy peices of wooden furniture. I have also done it with ladders and stacks of 2x4s for long 3hr trips. It is very heavy duty. It would take something VERY extreme to cause an issue.

My splurges consist of shocks, and a battery powered weed trimmer...
Yah see, you're the reason I spend so much! Now I need to look at shocks.

Well, actually, that seed's already been planted earlier this week—but, damn it, you're watering that seed! =)

It does sound like shocks would reduce the excessive spirit (ie, bouncing around like a rag doll) that the Ranger displays on bumpy roads and our excessive New England potholes!

There ya go David I like to see that you're now talking yourself into these mods. It helps get you through the initial pain of it all. Then you can tell your dear wife you're doing it for Cheech. How can she say no then? ?

Mine is branded ADI. Probably came off the the same line. They are rugged. I just didn't want to give it my endorsement. And have it crap out on him.

Will this help your decision?

Excluding time spent fishing a nut out from a nook in the frame, only took 5 minute per side to swap. Did not test drive yet but my scientific bumper bounce test feels nice...

Yes, I noticed that after I responded that yours is a different brand. Items look to be very similar with different mounting mechanisms.

I get ya in the endorsement and not wanting to steer someone wrong. They are really rugged and I've hauled myself in that manner several times. I haven't done more than maybe 150 max resting on it (if that). I just used common sense.

As for the AMP product, I was curius so took a look at the manual I had. They say no more than 200lbs distributed weight when using it. However....its not very clear if they mean "on the floor or angled on the extender. I know our tailgates can support up to 485lbs.

Only five minutes, crud now it's an official must have but I need to pace myself, maybe wait a month!

Thanks (honestly) for letting me know how easy it is. We want to do some longer trips later this summer, and now that Kate has her uber-posh Mazda, little Soupie needs all the refinement it can get for longer road trips.

I gave my truck a little piece of mind today and purchased an 8 year Premium Care ESP plan so it can rest in the garage and not have to worry about future appointments and unexpected repair bills.
