As if they aren't high enough already, our wonderful government here is raising gas taxes due to "inflation"- from 51 cents per gallon, to 54. Just another advantage of living in California (sarcasm meant). Don't mean to be political here, just informative to other Californians.

But it's such a wonderful state with wonderful people. it's not worth the extra tax?

edited to add more sarcasm: but how else would you pay for the features like brown outs and water shortages?

Hmmmmm...
Fires all year round...
No water.....Unless it rains occasionally, at which time there are mud-slides....
Everyone waiting for "The Big One"...
Housing no one can afford....
Some of the highest consumer prices in the country....
Brownouts and Blackouts.....
What a "Great" place to live !!!

Note: San Francisco and LA run the state, not me. I have to say though, in the winter when it’s 70°, and in the summer, when it’s 70°, and I can sit on my back deck and not get too hot or too cold, that’s nice. We certainly pay the price for it though. Paid $6.75 a gallon yesterday to fill up.

I believe it's a petroleum derivative, so probably twice what it would cost anywhere else.
But if it's used to "lube" a certain "hole" than it might be considered for medicinal purposes, so at least three times as much. :giggle:

I had read somewhere that Gavin Newsom was going to roll back state gasoline taxes to help with the inflation burden.

I guess that didn't happen after all. :(
Well now they are issuing inflation relief checks, which will subsequently raise inflation.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Weather is an important factor to happiness in my life. Wages are higher in nearly every field, so it does offset the price somewhat, but yes. It requires a bit more hustle and mental stability to live in this state.

P.S. @dano42 do you have a SuperCab or CrewCab Ranger?

Trying to push people into EV's....then when 25% of the population is in EV's they'll realize they just lost 25% of their gas tax revenue........then they'll create an EV charging tax.

meh... I enjoy the seasons. all 4 have their own fun. I'll just fill up with my $4.55 today

I'll leave this right here so you periodically check gas prices
