We spent our last day here in SD up in Deadwood which is another nice small town. There's a lot of casinos there and shops and there's also Mt Moriah Cemetery where Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried. It's actually a nice cemetery to walk through as there's many really old grave sights there and a row from those who served in the Civil War.

Calamity Jane is buried right beside (to the right) Wild Bill

We spent some time wondering around the cemetery. I wanted to walk up to Sheriff Seth Bullocks grave (kind of a hero of mine). But it was a long steep climb, and the wife injuries wouldn't let us. The story is told that Bullock said he wanted his grave high on the hill, because he didn't want to be buried aorund all of the assholes, and crooks in the town. :)

We didn't do it either because of Annie's knee. I'm kinda kicking myself now for not going up there myself as it would've been cool to see his sight. lol makes sense as to why he wanted to be buried up there so high. ?

It’s too late Larry - I listed it on Airbnb as a party house and it’s booked solid for the next six weeks.
Oh Snap! You darn Canadians drink and party way to hard, my poor house. :frown:?

Getting reading to get out of here and head back to CO. We're meeting up and staying with Mark @txquailguy tonight and they're taking up to Estes Star Park tomorrow to show us around. Looking forward to meeting up Mark.

Greg @GregM, you're going to have to wait a little longer, he sent back the non disclosure form last night.:captain: ?

Wow pretty awesome trip Dave. You are giving my ideas for a trip of my own next year. I did a helicopter trip when I was on Maui a few years ago. That was so cool. Thanks for all the pictures and commentary. I have 4 days at your B&B next week. Thanks

Estes Park, no thanks, hordes upon hordes of tourists engaged in a perpetual shuffle down the main street. Knew a gal who lived there some 30 yrs back and moved away, a few summers back she rented a house for a month and invited a bunch of us to come up and visit, however we never made it because she lasted just a week and couldn't stand the tourists hordes and congestion. Couple of decent holes where some good sized browns hang out a bit further east on the big thompson if you brought a fly rod, otherwise I'd be in favor of another cleansing gully washer thru that town.

Have to agree. We stayed at a campground just outside the town back in 2018 going cross country enroute to Alaska, and even then it was packed hip to hip with people.
The only nice point was it's gateway to Rocky Mountain Nat. Park. Had a very enjoyable day driving and hiking the park.
Town was filled with the usual Made In China junk shops with a few nice local crafts shops thrown in.

That must of been a fun helicopter ride in Maui with all the great scenery there. Glad you’re getting some good ideas for you trip next year, I was hoping it would help others too.

Four days? :whew: Now I’m glad I locked all the booze and porn in my safe.?

Dave I was supplied the combination to your safe with my Air B&B rental. They gave me a super good deal too. Not like the mini bar at the hotel where you are charged for the booze that was drank. They specifically said Dave said it all good just don't mess with his porn.
