Support group for those waiting for their Ranger MY22

Was it ever mentioned that the people that get rolled into a 23 will be price protected? Or are they going to cancel your 22 order then you're stuck paying whatever they inflate the 23 price to?

If the order is rolled to 2023, there may be price protection. (I am 99% sure there is.) Your dealer would let you know if the order was cancelled and return any money down, unless you roll it into a new order.

Pushing an order to the next model year is not a cancel. It is a reschedule even if, internal to Ford, the 2022 build is cancelled and a 2023 build is ordered.

If, for some reason, your order is really cancelled, you and your dealer would receive a notice of that and you would have to start over. Your order would not roll to the next MY and the dealer must refund any deposit.

i emailed my dealership with this question. " Should I be concerned at all that Ford will eventually stop producing ordered rangers and that my 22 order will be changed to a 23? "

and received this response. " I don't think it is a worry yet. But it could happen. "

So, its Thursday.. anyone getting any VIN/Build Date emails? Not me, order confirmed 3/21.

My dealer told me last week my 'priority' changed to 02, which means I cannot change my order and they're really close to assigning build date. How close, neither my dealer nor I can say. I'd at least like a VIN/Build Date email, then I'll learn patience again between that and shipment.

Sometime last month I went from Unscheduled-Clean to Unscheduled-Compatibility. Today I get an update from the dealer showing my order is now Unscheduled-Material Hold.

Very good chance I won't get this truck, but I got too good a deal when I ordered to just cancel.

I think I remember reading on one of the forums (may have been blueoval) that Ford's process is they duplicate the MY22 orders to MY23 orders, then about a week later will cancel the MY22 order. As far as Price protection, I don't think the ones that rolled from MY21 to MY22 were completely price protected, but I have seen (and my dealer told me) that Ford issued a credit coupon to the customer to match the difference.
Being that the MY23 is still a 5g, I would anticipate all the current deletes will still be deleted (like the LED headlights on Lariats) and there may be even more that will follow.

I think the Unscheduled-compatibility may be the LED headlight deletion. The unscheduled-material hold may be the LED dash. But just my opinion.

Okay, just got back from considering a new Nissan Frontier Pro-4X whatever.

Awesome looking truck. Workmanship was spot on. Loved the interior and the seats, very comfortable. Pricing was aligned with the Ranger's.
With that said, I despised that weaksauce craptastic motor and drivetrain.
Didn't like the ride either.
Yeah, I had my checkbook in my pocket.
