Picking up my Ranger, today. It was fully built and complete but was lost for nine weeks in the lot for vehicles missing parts and then forgotten. Dealer had to elevate the request for delivery until Ford actually went looking for it and found it parked in the wrong lot. Ford customer service...
If the order is rolled to 2023, there may be price protection. (I am 99% sure there is.) Your dealer would let you know if the order was cancelled and return any money down, unless you roll it into a new order.
Pushing an order to the next model year is not a cancel. It is a reschedule even if...
1. Heard Ford let some trucking contracts lapse during COVID. That means there is a formula for figuring out whose vehicle will move and whose will sit and collect damage.
2. Dealer recieved permission to go pick it up from dirt mountain, themselves. Maybe, in a few weeks, I will get the truck...
Yes, they very nicely explain that they have no more information than what is on the tracking site, do not have managers, do not have any other telephone numbers to Ford, cannot elevate my request, cannot tell me who the carrier is... The list of what they cannot do is infinite.
All I have...
It was 5 calendar days after blend date for my truck to move to "Built." It went fast through production once it started.
I plan to call Ford again, today, but do not expect anything. The truck I ordered is starting its 9th week waiting for transport by convoy.
Does anyone have links to info explaining why, when a vehicle is really finished, not missing parts, Ford cannot move it off their lot to the dealer that ordered it for a customer? People whose vehicles ship by rail seem to have it move. Ford missed another convoy delivery window.
What problem...
Ford cannot get 22's cleared from their lots so don't expect the delivery date on '23s to hold. Maybe they will but Ford is not doing well on meeting delivery targets.
The new economy says Ford takes orders for a model year from late Q4 through early Q2 and uses the remaining 6 months to build and deliver.
Order in Q2 through early Q4 and you risk being bumped to the next model year.
Received the expected shipping delay email #5 and heard back from my dealer, who also expressed frustration.
Note about ASS and 302A comments: Starting the engine or warming the seats takes a substantial amount of electrical current, which is routed through a transistor acting as a switch...
Ford missed the 4th delivery window. The Ranger spent 7 weeks waiting for a car carrier (convoy) and is rescheduled out, again. I'll probably get the 5th email for a new delivery window overnight Thursday, May 26.
The window sticker would show any deletions or replacement packages.
Eight weeks after build is complete and my Ranger is still at the factory waiting for a car hauler to carry it 400 miles. Received a fourth email notice saying it's delivery date was rescheduled to the future because it...
More than 6 weeks waiting for a spot on a convoy (trailer.) Missed the third delivery window. Called ford customer service and complained for the third time, as I promised I would. I also promised this would be the last Ford I would own.
Time to start a class-action law suit. Three sequential emails promising a delivery date some time within a week long window were missed. Six weeks of "pending" shipment and missed delivery windows means Ford is lying to me. Either the truck is not actually in working order or Ford is...
Heard from the dealer that they have vehicles stuck in a rail yard and Ford will not allow them to pick the vehicles up with their own trailers. Maybe I am lucky my truck is scheduled for convoy.
Yes, it was cleared to ship and transport was pending weeks ago. Last night I recieved a third email pushing out the delivery window to next week; same freight ID as the last 5 weeks.
I suspect whether the vehicle actually moves off the lot depends on priority among a bunch of other vehicles...
