Newbie here. I have owned a new Ram 1500 every 3 years for the past 15 years. All V8’s and a hemi in the last three. I got bored with my 2019 black crew cab, Bighorn. Didn’t have all of the bells and whistles but it was nice and fast. Had a console so big 4 adults could eat Big Macs on it at the same time.

In 21 the Ranger really caught my eye. Problem was so many choices. so I started shopping around. I actually order 3 different ranger from different dealers all three completely different. soo let the waitI get game begin. 3-6 months was the time frame. This was in May of this year. Also due to the new way of the world my Ram appraised at 8-10k more then the payoff. I told myself hell yeah! I gonna get all the bells and whistles and coincidentally a local dealer just happen to get a Lariat. I jumped on it. I’ve bored you long enough so I’ll skip the window sticker. So to my point. I love everything about it except for the ability to leave most other trucks at the light or pass that creeping semi on a crowded expressway. Just wondering if anyone downsized and got to the point of going back. I will say I do like the look and the feel of the Ford trucks now.

ok, you can wake up. Thanks for listening:)

Hi Gene,

Puzzling. I have never had any trouble dusting off a RAM with a Hemi. Hemi had its day in the sun or "under Glass"...but those days are over and gone. So take your truck back to the dealer as you Ecoboost in not working as intended. Dodge/Fiat are no challenge for my stock Ranger Lariat...

Best,
Phil

Shoot, I leave those semis behind! Along with many others. No problem with get up & go at all. This Ranger is very nimble. :inlove: My opinion.

Mine has plenty of power. Try sport mode. Bet a hemi truck won't touch you. I have a Durango RT and my truck will beat it. These are pretty awesome trucks.

Welcome to the forum Gene. Nice looking truck but there may be a problem with it because, in my experience, the Ranger will move right along, no problem from a stop or passing on the highway.

Sorry, this was intended for the OP.
I know this was for the OP, but I was just thinking. Haven’t tried sport mode myself. I feel like my Ranger is powerful enough. I might not know what to do with all that power! I could be dangerous!

Remorse?...yeah a little, but def not for lack of acceleration as Ive owned many vehicles on 47 years of life. This Ranger is like a sports car compared to any of my previous vehicles. Of course it's not a sports car as other member said it well. It's nimble. Remorse for me comes in the form of fuel mileage (Long daily commute on expensive ass premium adds up quick). Still not terrible fuel mileage as the lie meter is around 27mpg avg. Just wish sometimes it would be nice getting the 40's range mpg common in cvt cars. Grass always greener as I know then it will be boring commute driving a snail to work...damn that was a long winded reply. Lol
