I just hope mine has not been sitting outside. It's been in ohama Nebraska since the 8th and I know the middle part of the country was seeing softball sized hail ?

A good body shop will have that Ranger just as good as pristine off the end of the assembly line, but I understand how you feel about it. You always need to do what makes you most happy and satisfied.
The dealership's body shop is not something I was going to chance. :ontheloo::lipssealed:

Since the dealer only gave me a slight break in the initial order of the the vehicle (little under MSRP), add the fact the deleted parts from FORD, add the waiting, add the dealer trying to pass damage off vehicle as "no biggie"...I chose to walk away from the "deal".

Since this was the first time I ever paid close to MSRP and ever ordered a new vehicle, my standards and expectations were high. Had this vehicle been sitting on the lot and WAYYYY lower in price...I would contemplate the repaint...maybe. But that would be a different scenario.

If you ever ordered any new appliances and them delivered to your home, only to find out it had a huge dent...would you except it? Depends, right? Will manufacturer replace panel? Will they give you discount off the price if the the dent is on the side where no one will really see it? Or will you just not accept delivery and get a replacement? Same scenario here...just paying a lot more money for a bigger product!

So me personally, I decided to walk away. If I'm paying full boat for a new car, I expect and DEMAND perfection, period. I have yet to find a very good body shop in our area. I was a detail technician for a decent body shop, and can spot garbage a mile a away. Unfortunately, that is also a burden when I have to deal with it on my personal vehicles. But thats on me. My standards are high when it comes to body work/paint. And while I only observed a few factory paint defects which I was completely fine with, the actual damaged parts were the issue. I still don't even know how many miles were on it, or if all the features inside were there as we didn't even get that far:frown:

Wasn't planning on logging in today, but I got so used to checking vehicle status and checking the forum everyday, I guess it felt weird to NOT.

So if anyone sees my vehicle in the Chicagoland, Illinois area...check that paint work out before you buy, and make sure you get a good deal. The VIN ends in .........7859

Did you get an email yet saying your vehicle was scheduled for production and the week it was scheduled? If so, you should get your VIN about a week before that production date. I not, then that email was the same a lot of us got last week that are still not scheduled…
Thanks for the information. I am going to the dealership tomorrow to see what they can do about moving things along.

Well, I got a surprise email this morning:

F71A5F41-21D9-4B80-9F0E-D5D33EC2BECA.jpeg

It supposedly will be delivered between 4/15-4/21.
Ordered October...five months later in Production, two days later in Built.

Mine went from ordered to in production in just two months but has now sat there on the tracker "in production" for a week now. And order track has stated there are now 11 vehicles similarly waiting. Not the news I wanted today.

Congrats!!!! Yours is that much closer to arriving ?

Well, good news for those waiting, I think. Just saw the release for the production week scheduling for next week, and it seems Ford will be scheduling Rangers for the weeks of May 30 through June 27, so 5 weeks of production. They are also scheduling Broncos for these same weeks. So hope for those of us yet to be scheduled, but NOT being in the chosen could mean another 5 weeks of witing until the schedule vehicles again.

I think historically i have seen future Ranger owners getting their 'scheduled' email beginning on Wednesday or Thursday of the following week (so the 20th-21st) through the Sunday/Monday following. :fingerscrossed: :please:

How do they decide who gets into that schedule. I ask because I ordered pretty basic xl supercab at the end of March, and am admittedly impatient haha. The dealer originally told me a couple months until I’d likely get it, but after reading here if I miss this production date and the shipping delays I get the feeling it might be longer. First time ordering a vehicle instead of buying off lot

I ordered a Supercab XL 101A w/tow package at the end of January and it seemed to be running later than Supercrews (from what I could see on this forum). It has a build week of this week and is in production since Wednesday. So IF it was running at the same speed and yours was ordered 2 months after mine, then the build date would be in June BUT I think they have picked up speed and are having fewer delays than at the end of 2021. So let's hope that means you have a month, or less, to wait for a build date.

Speaking of BOF over there with their scheduling - just caught this for this week - could this be why those scheduled for this week (04/11) are still sitting as "In Production" on the trackers?
