I'm 76.
I learned to drive in a 1950 Hudson. I think it was the Commodore model but not sure.
My first car was a 1955 Ford Fairlane bought in 1961.
Current Ford is a 2020 Lariat.

I'm 57, learned to drive on my dad's F-150 and mom's 76 Lincoln Continental. My first Ford was a 76 Ford Pinto then a 74 Mustang II, a 2001 F-250 and now a 19 Ranger. Hopefully a 23 or 24 Ranger Raptor in the near future.

My first Ford was a 2007 Ford Ranger (XL, reg. cab, 4x2, 3.Slow, 5AT) - also my first ever vehicle, co-purchased with my parents.
I learned to drive in a 2006 Ford F-150 (XL, reg. cab, 4x2, 4.6, 4AT)
My 2022 Ranger XLT S.Crew is currently in scheduled production phase, with start date of tomorrow.

I'm 68 my first Ford was a 65 Mustang basic little 6 banger with a three speed on the floor. I took my driver test in this bad boy. It belonged to my brother in law at the time but he got in some financial problems and couldn't make the payments so we actually traded cars

64. First Ford was a ‘59 F100 shortbed with a bent frame horn. Bought it in ‘77 for $300 and immediately drove it 800 miles to Southern California. Had a retread blow out but otherwise made it with no problems.

1st vehicle was an 87 Ranger. Wish I still had it.

Owned a 2001 F150 SCrew Lariat for 20 years and 200k miles.

Ordered a 2022 XLT SCrew just over a month ago.

Fords and Hondas are all I've ever driven. If the Ridgeline wasn't so ugly and has a lighter towing capacity, I probably would've gone with a Honda.
I have a Pilot now and it's great, but I hate towing with it.

63 years old. learned to drive a 64 Ford F100, 3 on the tree. First and favorite car was a 65 Mustang 2+2 Fastback that was poppy orange. Damn I miss that car.

I'm almost 69.

Learned to drive in the high school drivers ed cars. Learned to drive a stick in my dad's '67 Ramber Rebel, 232 six with three on the tree. What a boat! First car was a '66 Chevy II 194 six with a Hurst 3 speed floor conversion. First ford was a '83 F100 short box with 300 six and 4 speed. Never was real brand loyal. Drove Plymouth( '70 Cuda), Dodge (Dakota), AMC, Chevy, Ford. First Ranger was 2011 XLT before my current '19 XLT.

First Ford was a 1973 Mustang.
Learned to drive on a few of my dad's cars, but his 1975 Continental Mark IV stands out.
My Ranger is a 2021.

Since you are playing along, was my experience with the 83 Ranger just bad luck? My grandfather drove it for 6 years in-town only, but he was meticulous on the maintenance. The head gasket blew just under 30K miles. We put in a replacement, rebuilt engine from Fred Jones Ford, and less than 3K miles later, the automatic transmission failed. Ford said that the transmission pump had "backed off the ears" or something like that.

We still loved the truck anyway. ?

I am aware of a head gasket problem with the 2.8L V6...is this your engine? Or the base model 2.3L Lima engine? 2.8 Cologne motor was designed in the UK and built in Germany...the 2.9L version fixed a lot of the problems and did not need the valve adjustment as the valve lifters were hydraulic on the 2.9L Auto trans were in my opinion, always problematic in that day except the C6. AAMCO loved us... We finally fixed the Auto Trans, but it was a loooooong haul....

I'm older than some of you, younger than a few of you.

I learned to drive in a 85 Toyota pickup and a 1983 Camaro.

My first Ford was actually the first car I bought on my own, a 1976 Pinto. I hated that car so much and did everything I could to break it, but the damned thing would never die. Sold it eventually and got an 82 Mustang. Never really considered myself a Ford guy, but thinking back now, I have owned A LOT of them.

My current Ranger is a 2022, coming from a 2020.

Okay...I think this is on the forums in another thread, but here it is again...

The 2.8L had a phenolic camshaft driven gear. This gear was known problem and when it failed you bent every valve in the motor and likely trashed the motor. We Truckers hated the 2.8L and begged Engine Engineering to fix the damn plastic cam gear. They said it worked in Yurop, so no need to fix. Motor was also used in the Mustang II.... So our CEO, Henry Ford II was in California with his Beautiful girlfriend, not his wife, Katheryn Ford. Well....the Mustang II the love birds were driving failed on the California freeway system and this beautiful couple was stranded on the side of the road....Front Page News.... So HFII as we called him, contacted Engine Engineering as he quickly learned about this POS plastic gear. He ordered this be fixed ASAP. And so it was. We truckers giggled...but Katheryn divorced him... The Detroit papers inquired and he uttered the famous "Never complain, Never explain"
