I'm not a fan and think it's obnoxious. Does anyone know exactly how much of any fuel savings are realized with it turned on?

I just used it for the first time this last tank and I got 1 mpg more....I don't know how scientific it was but I never used it before since I bought the truck in Oct 2021 and just thought "what the heck" to see if it made that big of a difference.....I still drive the same.....jack rabbit starts....wide open throttle all the time......flooring it getting on the freeway......cruising at 85 mph whenever possible......a/c on 24/7......and I went from about 14 mpg to 15 mpg.....I always use 91 octane cuz I have the Ford Performance tune.......but I didn't buy it for the gas milage!!....it gets the same as my previous taco and I use it for "work" so it's a write off......no reason to use it unless you want to add 1 or maybe 2 mpg......for me, I don't care......I'll still drive the same even if gas hits $10 a gallon!......live is too short to drive like an old lady.......Shake and bake baby!....if you aint first, you're last!....??

Must be the odd one out. Never turn it off and it doesn’t bug me at all.
It didn't bother me in the loaner 2.3t explorer I got for a bit. Not sure if it is programmed a bit different or it was a heavier vehicle so I didn't feel it starting back up as much.

I have not turned mine off since getting the truck. Partly due to rising prices and partly because it hasn't bothered me too much. Only 1000 miles in so I might change my tune later.

Unless the price of a better starter was baked into the cost of the truck and most of us are not using it like we should?

That would assume the starter is a better unit than Rangers that have a no ASS option - doubt it.
They took out the glovebox damper and the bulb for the PRNDS light to cut costs...I don't think the starter is heavy duty.

I learned to drive in the 70's. Every time it shut off I had flashbacks to those days of emissions-choked vehicles that liked to die at stoplights. I disabled it.

I'm retired. I drive in a semi-rural area with few stoplights when I go to the store, other than that its all highways on camping or sight-seeing trips. It wouldn't do me any good to turn it back on, it would just annoy me.

If I drove in the city with lots of stoplights I'm sure I would learn to accept it.

Mine is programmed off with my tune. I'm retired an don't commute so I don't do stop an go traffic any longer an there isn't any long traffic lights where I normal drive. If I could turn it on I might for a drive through line but since things reopened I just walk in if there's a line.

I will never turn it back on as long as i own this vehicle, it does as much good for mpg's as releasing barrels from the strategic petroleum reserve does for gas prices, which is nothing.
So no. ( i turned it off with my tuner so don't have to play with the switch).

It does something....when it's time to replace the reserve it will drive prices up.

Yea and the gov't will pay a higher per barrel price to fill the reserve back up, because there stupid and it's not their money so they don't care.

Even if gas goes up to $10.00/gal I wont turn that darn thing back on. That's how much I can't stand it.
You know..... I was wondering if you or anyone has noticed that there's no place for the #1 on the sign if it reaches $10.00 or more. The sign goes up to 9.99⁹

$10.09 will look like 0.09⁹

No one has anticipated gas prices to be that high. It might say it on the pump.......but not the sign. I just hope it doesn't come to that. What worries me is the gas hoarding. They'll use any type of container.

Since I haul the stuff, I can tell you some gas stations will have priorities over others. So if one runs out, you'll have to start searching around town that has some and you'll be paying a ridiculous price for it.

As for the Auto start stop, I'm used to my engine constantly running. I press the disable button after I start the engine.
