I wonder what would happen to the domestic oil industry if subsidies were terminated as well as taxes taken from the sale of each gallon of fuel.........

I will be riding my motorcycle a lot more now that's for sure. I do need some better weather to do that however. I am a fair weather rider anymore. I saw $5.59 a gallon in Newberg Oregon yesterday

Did anyone see the calls for Elon to "disable" all Teslas in Russia?
The problem isn't the Russian people it's their leader. Half the citizens hate Putin too (could be most citizens hate him but don't want to go to prison for saying so). The Canadian truckers that got their bank accounts suspended showed us the real reason for the push for a cashless society, Gov control. Gov tells the banks (or tesla) who to shut down for nonconformity an you're done.

In the old days when the Russian leader was weakened by events one of the generals or gov officials would take him out an assume control. Putin may have placed supporters in too many positions to make this a real possibility but it would be interesting if someone took Putin out an organized new elections with themselves as a possible replacement. It would be hard to not just take control of the machine an bring troops home to gain support.

Went to work this morning and gas was $3.99 at Fry's. 5 hours later it's now at $4.39 and this is for 87. I have 3/4 of a tank left of 91 and next fill up I'll be flashing back to the 87-89 soft shift tune. Might not matter because soon enough the economy will collapse and we'll have no where to go. :curse::mad:
Two days later and it's now up to $4.55 for 87 and $5.19 for diesel. Buckle up my friends we're in for a VERY bumpy ride ahead of us!:frown:

WOOHOO!!!!! a barrel of oil dropped to $111 today, down $15!
Should take 0.10c off a gallon, 0.02c off a liter for us Canuks!
Tomorrows headline will not be good & it will go up another $10, enjoy your day.

Funny (well not really) how when the per barrel price drops it only goes down a couple cents and takes a week. When the PBP goes up it shoots up it goes up the very next day and usually 0.10-.020 or more!

Filled up 5 gas cans when it was $3.18, then bought $1000 worth of lumber before the spike hit the yard. I'm not going anywhere just going to sit in the woods with my arms crossed.

Did anyone see the calls for Elon to "disable" all Teslas in Russia? Reminds me of Minority Report, when Tom Cruise gets his car hijacked and it takes him right to the police station. Yeah buy one of those things.
Tesla is not shutting down cars in Russia. People were asking for Starlink to block Russian news sources as well and Elon said no bc they allow free speech. Tesla also enabled free supercharging at multiple superchargers in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary to help ease the situation for owners in the affected area.

I drive maybe 1000 miles a month in the Ranger and costing me about $100
Wife drives 5000 miles a month in her Tesla and it only costs about $125.

Lets hope the gas costs will ease up. Crude oil futures settle down 12.13% to $108.70/barrel today

Can they actually be disabled though?

Good news bad news. Our new Honda CR V is getting anywhere from 31 to 33 mpg so more miles going on it, bad news I'm not driving my Ranger as much, using it for more truck stuff, but when I do what a smile I have.

Just paid $4.40 here in MI. ????

Update: Just topped off and Now its $4.75 here ???????????
What the heck u complaing about? Diesel is the most expensive gas here in europe germany now… ITS 2.30€ per LITER. Means 11,38$ per gallon… :curse: all because they thought they could annoy that russian lunatic for ever… ignoring he had nothing to loose:devil:
most normal people (nurses for example) here aren‘t able to afford that for more than a month. S I C

Edith corrects the numbers:
it is „only“ 9,49$ per gallon…

By my math that's about 6.88CAD per US gallon, or about $5.39/gal.

I paid $5.50/gal for 91 last week, and it's already up to $5.75 in at some stations. Even Costco is at $5.09/gal for premium.

This is why we need to stop commodities trading. We don't actually have a supply issue currently, rich people are just scared about the Russia/Ukraine conflict and are screwing over the little guys with their paper oil.

I would be fine with spending more for oil if it actually meant something to those who need the help, but all this is doing is lining the pockets of the people who are constantly screwing us over to begin with.
Not only rich people my friend… it is only 1k miles away from me…

That would double us to about $8 a gallon. How long can the economy handle that? I'm thinking not very long at all.
and even than u made a good deal comparing to us europeans…
the economy handles that with ease because what happen is just another great reallocation from bottom to top… wich was intended like that.
