The problem is that the Ranger really isn't a small truck; mine is almost exactly the same size and specs as my 1990 F150 single cab with an 8 foot bed with an inline 6. Same length, same width, same towing, same fuel tank size, the F150 was about 300 lbs lighter but got worse mileage.Small trucks like Rangers are viewed as gas savers. Big trucks like an F150, gas hogs. I’m waiting for the market to crash on full size trucks and then I’ll simply trade my Ranger in, even swap for what use to be a $60K F150 Lol. Ok, pipe dream but never say never. Of course when the market rebounds, trade back in for a tidy profit on a new Ranger.![]()
My niece's husband owned a gas station. He said buying gas for one station made it impossible to make money off gas. If you had a few stations an bought in bulk it was easier to make a little off gas. When the price was stable he made about a nickel off a gallon of gas. He had to raise the price right away for future increases trying to figure out how much it was going to cost to refill the tanks on the next delivery. Gas just got people to stop. He made his money off drinks, energy drinks an snacks. He had a nice run selling prepaid cell phones an minutes but that dried up an he sold the station. The big money maker on gas is the government. 55 cents a gallon while doing nothing but allowing it to be sold sure beats taking all the risks, investing in a station an making 5 cents.
And still pay taxes to a queen who lives across the ocean to boot!$8.33 Canadian per Gallon in Vancouver for 87 Octane ($2.20/Litre). Quit your whining. We have a dipshit government that exports 85% of its crude to be refined by the US, which then sells it back to us for huge profits. You think your president is a dumbass, we have the most expensive fuel AND a dumberer PM/President

I am accepting donations for fuel until gas prices drop below $3.50 a gallon.
please send a private message to me for further instructions to donate.......
Thank you.
update- I have emptied my in box for the second time so new donations can be accepted.
I want to thank those that have already given & a big thank you to those that will also help me
in the future.

So am I understanding correctly, in your opinion gas prices are high only because these corporations are being greedy? The policies of this administration are not affecting gas prices at all?Yeah okkkkkk. Let me know when you've understood how gas prices are affected by the oil commodities market, to say nothing of gas markets and other trading. This is capitalization on a conflict in the interest of profits.
We don't have a supply issue, but oil is projected to hit $150+/bbl before the month is out, when there's still not a single supply issue.
Currently, absolutely. There have been no disruptions in our supply chains to have the kind of impact on oil prices that we've seen.So am I understanding correctly, in your opinion gas prices are high only because these corporations are being greedy?
Ok I didn’t realize you’re from California, but let’s break this down for CA for instance since you’re living there.Currently, absolutely. There have been no disruptions in our supply chains to have the kind of impact on oil prices that we've seen.
The current impact is *purely* speculative and profit-driven. We saw the exact reverse at the beginning of the pandemic when these same people were *paying* people to take delivery of their paper oil because they had no intentions of actually ever touching the product. That's why oil prices were *negative* for a while. This trading is toxic greed at its finest and why we're being squeezed at the turn of every energy source (mainly at the pump right now).
Oh yeah? Well at least in California the taxes go to fix the roads...oh, waitOk I didn’t realize you’re from California, but let’s break this down for CA for instance since you’re living there.
For every gallon of gas sold in California: SOURCE: KTLA
18 cents for federal taxes
- 51 cents for state taxes
- 10 cents for sales tax
- 22 cents for low carbon program
- 15 cents for greenhouse gas program
- 2 cents for underground tank storage
So, for every gallon of gas sold, the state of California takes $1.00. SOURCE: StillwaterAssociates- The federal government takes 18 cents.
- What about the Oil companies? SOURCE: NaturalResourcesDefenseCouncil
- Oil producers make $1.12 per gallon.
- Refineries make 5 cents per gallon.
- Tankers and pipelines make about 1 cent per gallon.
- Gas station owners make 4-7 cents per gallon
So, the “greedy” corporations are taking as much as the government is. Tell me again how it’s all about the greedy corporations? You’re not slightly upset at the government? Also, do you know the difference between the government and these oil corporations? The corporations are actually producing a SERVICE. The government is just stealing your money.
