The railroad tried to keep freight moving by raising the tracks near the river 20", but the mighty Mississippi and Mother Nature had other ideas.
Anybody know if trains do any kind of rerouting?

Just wishful thinking.

My order was submitted to Ford on 3/25/19. Ford held things up because the sales contract didn't have a date by my signature even though the date was at the top of the sales contract. Ford finally approved the order 4/16/19. Talked with the dealer last week and they said the Ford rep said production was behind due to a steering wheel issue, but that the factory was starting to catch up.

You can mark me a delivered on May 10. It actually arrived at dealer on May 7, however they told me the air bag light was on and sent it to the shop to be checked out.

LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP!!!

Around mid-April I gave my dealer a multi-option ultimatum... and they ignored me. Tired of a lack of response from them, and super tired of waiting on Ford, I went looking for an alternative truck (one of the options in the ultimatum).

I ordered my Ranger on 11/27/18, and I just checked the tracking site... Ford estimates dealer delivery on 6/5/19. By the time "my" truck is available, Ford will announce the 2020's!!!

You can imagine why I mention "HATE"....

But I really wanted a Ranger!

So I started looking and negotiating with dealers up to 150 miles from home.... and there are a lot of them. After many hours of frustration (too long a story to go into here), I FINALLY purchased a RANGER!!!

And that's where the "LOVE" comes in!

While I couldn't find a
RED one, I compromised on a number of things and now have a Metallic SuperCrew FX4. I am very impressed!

Sorry if it's already been asked, but for those that ordered through MAS, how long did it take to get your VIN? I'm only at about 2 weeks, so I assume it'll take a little longer, just curious what others saw.

Thanks!

Hi Pioneer74,
My SuperCab was ordered January 2. Tracker says it is getting close to San Diego. Can you check to see where it is now? Many thanks.

I'm not sure what MAS is, but this was what happened for me:

Ordered at Dealer 12/22/2018
Accepted at Ford 12/26/2018
ROVP Approved 12/28/2018
VIN Assigned 1/18/2019
Window Sticker Available 3/8/2019
Blend Date 3/16/2019
Production Complete 3/19/2019
Shipped by truck from plant to Rail Yard in Woodhaven, MI 3/23/2019
Shipped via train from Woodhaven, MI 3/29/2019
Arrived in Portland Railyard 4/9/2019
Delivered via truck to Dealer 4/12/2019
Picked up at Dealer 4/14/2019

So it took almost a month from the time I ordered it until I got my VIN.

Thanks for the date breakdown, brother! I hope that ordering later in the date gets me to production a little bit sooner than you brave souls who ordered last year!

Also, MAS is Military Auto Source.

Things generally seem to be moving a bit faster now than they were earlier, but there are always outliers. You never know for sure until it happens.

Dealer said my order was submitted on 9th April with a 'priority' code (I'm assuming the same everyone else has mentioned theirs being ordered with). I've checked back several times to see if a VIN has been issued with the answer always being 'Not yet but should be soon...' (original estimate from the dealer was 2-3 weeks for a VIN and probably 8, maybe 10 weeks to deliver - even though from the comments here I'm expecting more like 12-16wks).

So the dealer calls me a couple weeks ago saying he got an email back from Ford requesting more information (some of which he already had, the rest he couldn't answer hence the phone call). He said the requested information included my middle name, home address and what make/model vehicle I'm currently driving. We were both a little perplexed because even he didn't know how any of that would make two bits of difference related to an order being built and shipped to a dealer but we completed the request and returned it none-the-less.

I'm just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience or if there's any significance to it? I'm right at 30 days since order submitted and still don't have a VIN - does that sound on par with the rest of the members' ordering experiences?
Ordered mine 3/26. I've bugged my dealer several times and still no VIN. Even asked my retiree mom if she could contact someone, and still nothing. Dealer said I might have more info next week so we will see. I'm west coast and the dealer told me 16 week from order to delivery. So you're not the only one if it makes you feel any better lol.

I think they are still doing the ROVP program - if that is true, you might want to follow up with the dealer to make sure your order got ROVP approved. Did you sign something and did they take a copy of your drivers license? They have to file paperwork with Ford so they it shows it is really for a customer, not a dealer trying to get more allocation by creating fake customers.

Many dealers don't know much about it and that has caused delays for many people.

Edit: I looked at this thread:

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/fords-retail-order-verification-program-explained.1376/

And it say the ROVP is done as of 1/15/19 - so I guess that isn't the issue. I guess that just applied to pre-orders.

I ordered my Ranger March 8. It took about 6 weeks to get my VIN. Thanks to @Pioneer74 for letting me know my truck is scheduled to be built May 16. Last, night my tracker moved to “in production”. Today, I was able to view my window-sticker and sure enough, it has my Blend date as 5/16. The information I have obtained from this forum is invaluable. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and knowledge. Also, thank you for the smile I almost always come away with. One more thing. Floyd, I sure hope you get your truck soon!

ROVP is alive and well. That is how my order was processed. The dealer had to submit a copy of my DL, deposit check and the sales agreement.

Happy to report that the Mississippi river water level has fallen 3' since the record high last Thursday. Trains haven't started moving through Davenport IA yet, not until tracks are inspected for flood damage. However, railroad was busy today moving tankers, box cars and container cars in and out of the Rock Island IL rail yard, which is directly across the river from D'port. I know that the Quad City area is breathing a sigh of relief. 47 days and counting above major flood stage.
