My friends 2016 Tacoma 3.5 v6 gets 17.4 average. Mine is almost 4 MPG better than his truck and much quicker.
I love tacos, but these rangers are more modern of a truck I would say when bringing economy and drivability into the equation.

Odometer/speedometer corrected
100% city driving

14.89 mpg calculated at pump

The dash still shows 17 mpg even though the Odometer/speedometer are both accurate . I know there's a way to get it more in line with actual use , but I'm lazy and haven't messed with it yet .

100% toyotas are antiquated but reliable technology look at the old tundras they didnt update them for like 14 years or something like that. In a way thats part of the merit for them but also modern technology and innovation go a long way. I'd take my ranger over a toyota any day. Also dont wanna have to pay to use built in features like remote start or get a new full price truck with rejected parts being used....

2020 XLT, stock, no tune, not leveled, no big tires, using UNL88 E15, average is 22 mpg, $3.86 a gallon. Fast enough for me, outruns my 66 Mustang GT....

In case anyone is interested in seeing from a perspective of the different tunes I have enough data on most for a good comparison. (Ford Performance Tune, Unleashed Tuning 93 Performance, unleashed 93 Towing, and Stock) They are pretty comparable MPG wise which shows you how optimized the tuners are. as far as power output and drivability I would rate them from Highest to lowest as Unleashed 93 Performance > Unleashed 93 Towing > Ford Performance 91+ = Unleashed 87 Performance > Stock. I feel the Ford Tune and unleashed 87 tune are about equal.
