What seat covers are those? How are they holding up?
They’re the CoverKing Saddle Blanket ones. They’re insanely comfortable and I’m even treating them with little regard to care, and they’re holding up to dirt, grime, and dog hair like champs.

Gearing up for an interstate relocation, I've been going through my house and figuring out what I need to keep and what I need to get rid of. One of the items I decided I needed to get rid of was my DJI Phantom 2 "drone". It is still mostly functioning perfectly EXCEPT for the fact that the Android app is useless because DJI no longer supports their old products. I have an expensive paperweight that was sitting in a really nice, kind of expensive case with custom cut foam inserts.

So, I decided to repurpose the nice case! I drilled two holes into the backside of the case and sourced a piece of angle iron to use as a reinforcement. Blind mounting this to two drop-in t-nuts was a major pain in the ass! But now, I have some extra storage on my truck that frees up some room in the truck's bed. I will move a bunch of my recovery gear up into this new side storage; stuff like my snatch strap, tree saver, shackles, and pulley.

Believe it or not, it doesn't impede reward vision from the side mirror! I'm not crazy about how much it sticks out, and I might swap it with the RotoPax so the storage case is at the rear.

Looks like a nice repurpose...assume waterproof...that socks about the drone, though. I always thought they were cool but never made the move.

It was pretty cool! It was a fun toy, and I brought it to work and filmed training for presentations. I eventually got the agency to buy an drone, and know we have a bunch being used for different capacities such as accident investigation and search and rescue. But damn, it was expensive to get into! LOL

i don't know what you plan on carrying in that case, but there are pro's and con's about the door hinging up or down.
hopefully you don't find out the cons if the latches ever open (by mistake of course)

throw a small carabiner into the lock holes to help ensure you don't have that oops on the highway or trails.
Yeah, I thought about the direction the door opens a little and eventually went with it opening down to keep stuff from falling on the ground as easy when I go into the case. I'm going to through a cheap padlock on the top so it shouldn't open accidently on the trail! HAHAHA
