I have read several threads about unleased tunes, mods, and cooler plugs. I have a 93 tune that is very aggressive with a hi-flow cat down pipe. I have 36,000 miles. Time for new plugs.
Plug choices based on what I have read. Most say gap to .026.

1. NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug 95822
2. NGK IX Iridium Spark Plug 6510
3. NGK Ruthenium HX Spark Plug 95605
4. FORD PERFORMANCE 3.5L ECOBOOST COLD SPARK PLUG SET

Part Number: M-12405-35T

Who is actually running any of the above plugs, what are they gapped to, and thoughts?
Again, who has actually run any of the above plugs in their truck with an unleased tune?????

I have about 40k mile on my truck, 35k of those with a LMS 91/93 octane tune. Not seeing any signs of worn plugs here and I'll probably take a look at them in the spring if it stays that way. When the time comes to change out the plugs I'm going to stick with whatever the factory installed, based on zero issues or concerns to date. Good luck!

I have a 93 Octane tune from Unleashed. No aftermarket down pipe. I believe Torrie states that colder plugs are not needed with his tune.
That being said I did (did) have colder plugs installed. And noticed no difference. I just put in the Rutherium and also noticed no difference. I gapped them at .028.

Back in 2015 when I had a 15 Ecoboost Mustang I got sucked into the frenzy over running colder plugs. I installed the one step colder NGK 6510 plugs. They made zero difference in the way the engine ran but after about 12k miles I started getting misfires. I put the factory plugs back in and didn't experience any more misfires.

As time went on more and more folks on the Ecoboost Mustang forum that had installed the 6510 NGK plugs started experiencing misfires in the 10k to 15k range. Some went back to stock others justified that plugs were cheap and put cold plugs in again.

With my 17 Ecoboost Mustang I put 59k miles on the factory plugs and never had an issue. BTW, both Ecoboost Mustangs we're tuned.

since you seem so adamant that we read your questions carefully, and you emphasize to only hear from those who have chosen your narrow selection, with an unleashed tune, then i believe you have answered your own questions already.
so all i can add is you haven't even come close to your spark plug maintenance interval of 100000 miles.
why changing them so soon?
is this an argument like the oil? change them early because of???
This is why I am changing them and viewers like you are why I have to be so precise about what I am looking for. Trying to keep the thread on topic based on what I have read and gleaned from this forum and the status of my current plugs.

The gaps are .030 and the pics of the plugs speak for themselves.

34k noticed no difference. My plugs looked like yours, I didn’t check the gap.

Thanks. This is useful information. I am not looking for a seat of the pants performance feel, just some plugs that will work in our application. If I have issues, I will go back to a factory spec plug.

I have 86K miles and all on OEM plugs...I pulled the first set at 55K and they looked great...but I already had new plugs ready so they were replaced...kept the old set for later re-use...

How did your plugs look at 55k compared the pics of mine?

They looked almost new...no fouling or burnt spots...absolutely normal...

Interesting. Mine certainly don't look like that.
