I know, right? I had a 93 Toyota 4x4 PU, pre toca. I could get in the bed, sit on the bed, etc. On the ranger it's pretty high. I'm fine with it, though I don't understand why they didn't include a step in the bumper. Seems weird, but what ev.
I said the same thing. We just need a step in the bumper!

Bad back chiming in here.

The only thing I give the nod to my 2010 Frontier Pro4X over my 2019 Ranger is the driver side grab handle. It made a world of difference getting in and out on those days when my 2 lower vertebrae decided to do the Twist. ?

Well. I'm not old, old. I'm 59 going on 80. I can get up in the bed and dance around if I wish. I found the ranger bed as sort of higher than I liked. I could get in it, but it wasn't easy so I got a step. And, I have a short wife. But, yeah, I'm getting old. Chit happens. :)
For sure. It is tall. I just send my kids in for now.

I do like the BesTop and DeeZee steps though.
don't forget the discounts and buffet specials
Happy hour here I come!

What another old man modification........? Ranger danger? Or perhaps someone had too much time on their hands?

Now, that makes a lot of sense....could make good use of it on those days that I don't know if I'm coming or going !
If I'm coming I could also be going, and if I'm going, I could also be coming ! :like:
Either way, I'd get there, or maybe I'd be leaving !

I'm getting old, I'm short and I have bad knees so I can't take climbing in and out of the bed so I installed one of these:

I don't have a pic of mine installed but you get the idea. Works great and straps to the tailgate when not in use so it stays out of the way.

I had that on my old Ranger., but it was more of a hobby truck...didn't use the bed that much so it wasn't in the way. Thought about getting one for the 2021 but decided no. Didn't think it would be high enough for the new Ranger, and I'll be using the bed/tailgate a lot more frequently.
Westin makes a nice folding ladder to attach to the tailgate...aluminum, but it folds a different way and makes a permanent home on one side of the tailgate. On another forum I visit, a 2020 owner installed one. Works well, and long enough to hit the ground. But it does take up a bit of space.

It's pricey, but I got a Bestop step.

I've got one on order. I can climb up either side using the rear wheel, but I have a soft top installed and don't like pulling on it as I climb up and pull myself over. For me, a GM type bumper step is a little too high. I really would like an F150 style tailgate step

Keep this in the truck and use it for climbing into the bed. Also, it is handy as a step when I have a short passenger.
