My 1999 and 2011 (2011 was the last year Ford sold the 4g's) had fold-out jump seats as shown in this pic...

Those jump seats look more comfy than the current Scabs! I think the low padded back looks like you could let your shoulders go back against the cab and feel less upright.

Got mine brand new in 1983.

My 2001 salesman bought my '88 from the dealer for his mom. A gentleman from Moncks Corner, SC bought my 2001 from my 2006 dealer. My 2019 salesman bought my 2006 from the dealer for himself. Every single one of my past Rangers went to good homes - I was extremely pleased.

They look OK but were very uncomfortable...adults wouldn't make it in them very far on a ride and even teens would probably not be able to last very long on a road trip...too small and impractical. The advantage was that you had decent rear storage with the seats folded up. Even though the seating in my SCab is limited, it is worlds above those!

As far as other riders, I dunno, they sound like the perfect seats to me! =D

My Scab seats are 100% Cheech's domain! And he's only 20 pounds, so perfect for him. =)

Yes, the seat folded down, then the back folded up so that you sat sideways whereas your back was against the speaker.

Unfortunately, that’s not mine. My neighbour belongs to this crazy social club where you can use their stable of cars for a weekend at a time and he borrowed the garage for a bit.

They have some classics, exotics, a new Bronco, Corvettes, two mustangs, 911s, Ferraris.

LMAO! Side Ejection where the rear doors flop open and the miscreants are shoved out by hydraulic rams attached to the seats. Here is a prototype ejection seat still in development...

If I remember right from my 2011 those folded down then the seat back folded up againt the door. So you sat facing each other. I would even put a child back there. Never used mine for anyone. It would be a death trap in an accident.
