I have an XL model and I am considering adding like a SiriusXM Onyx receiver to the factory setup. Just curious if anyone has done something similar. Primarily interested in how someone may have routed the antenna cable. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure the answer to your question but my 21 XL was mot equipped either. Saleswoman who sold me the truck said all models came equipped with it but later found out otherwise. Since then I just subscribed to XM via phone app and use it via bluetooth for listening on radio. XM phone app is great and has additional content

If you call and threaten to cancel, they offer $60 for the whole year. I have this on my wife's Beetle and it includes the streaming app which I stream via bluetooth (or android auto if plugged in.) The sound quality is also MUCH better through the app vs the Ranger's tuner.

Thanks for the input everyone! I have SiriusXM through the app, but was interested in going with a separate add on tuner so I am not fiddling with my phone while driving. Looks like it might be more trouble than it is worth though.

If your car has CarPlay/and an iPhone/you can see it on the screen/I know this works with my iPhone go onto settings and turn CarPlay on maybe this might work for you. it has to be plugged into the car like you’re trying to charge it

Does the XL have bluetooth on the radio? The app would be the easiest way. I think the only other way is an aftermarket radio.

I used the xm vehicle kit in my 11 F150. It comes with the head unit, base, power cable, antenna, and accessories cable. I ran the antenna wire under the passenger floor mat and outside at the door hinge and had the magnet antenna right above the windshield. The base say on the trashcan just in front of my console. It worked ok.

Long, long ago, I added SXM to my Suburban.

The antenna at that time was a puck attached to the roof with the cable dropped in through the windshield seal, headliner, and behind the a pillar trim. From inside, it was clean. From outside, you could tell it was aftermarket.

I had it installed by a sound shop.

Hope this helps.
