This is a follow-on to a previous thread. I want SiriusXM in my Ranger, but my Ranger does not have a satellite radio. I purchased an external SiriusXM radio: the product name is Onyx. I need to connect the Onyx to a satellite antenna. My Ranger has a satellite antenna.
First question: Does it make sense to connect the factory satellite antenna to an external SiriusXM radio? It makes sense to me, but I might be missing something.
Second question: What kinds of adapters or plugs will I need? I'd like to have everything on hand before I take apart the dash. (EDIT: It will be hard for someone to answer that question without knowing what kind of input jack the Onyx has. I don't know it's name. All I can say is that it's small. It looks like a tiny coaxial cable.)
Third question: How do I find the plug for the factory satellite antenna? I assume it's behind the dash somewhere. Are there instructions for disassembling the dash correctly?
