I don’t know they seem to think I’ll be happier with factory bedliner and don’t think it will be that long of delay. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but 27 weeks mean I won’t even get scheduled until June and won’t be built until fall that’s a long time. Will the dealer know that the bedliner is a hold up if I am not getting scheduled? They claim that delays change all the time and generally reduce as dealers delete the option or supplies improve. Idk.i wouldnt listen to them on that.
they make a premium on in house bedliners.
they just dont want to lose the sale.
Well I sent a message to someone I know who actually did and still does some ordering for a dealer on another message board. I will get his take and proceed with that advice.here's how i would process it....
its a potential delay of 27 weeks. that's either acceptable or its not. is 20 weeks acceptable? 13?
getting a ford liner may be better quality, or it may not be.
there's a thousand good and bad stories out there for Fords liner, as well as aftermarket. No ones is perfect.
the bonus of aftermarket....if there are problems....they're around the corner locally to get solved.
What if you have a problem with Fords liner? who and where will it be going to get fixed and how long will that process take with your dealership mucking around in the middle? Nothing is simple going to Ford for warranty work. A liner problem isn't just an easy switch of defective parts.
I would go with aftermarket locally sourced...then you're in more control of the situation on all fronts.
I was very lucky when I bought mine, it was the only one coming into my dealership, had almost every option I wanted (no nav 302a package) but had everything else and the bed liner. The Ford logo in the bed is definitely worth it! Makes it look more finished and less genericyou wont have this at the front if you go aftermarket.....
to some, thats worth the wait.

That’s the thing… I really like the looks of the factory liner, but 27 weeks is over 6 months. Add in the normal 3-4 months that an order takes a Ranger with a spray-in bedliner is 9 or 10 months out. Unless I am not understanding right and the delay means instead of the normal 3-4 months to build it’ll be around 6. Not sure what this really means.I was very lucky when I bought mine, it was the only one coming into my dealership, had almost every option I wanted (no nav 302a package) but had everything else and the bed liner. I have the factory spray-in liner and didn't notice the logo on the front of the bed. I just had to go out to the truck with a flashlight to see if I had the logo and sure enough, there it was.you wont have this at the front if you go aftermarket.....

That's big reason I got no frills or extra options. Just a basic entry level supercab then mod it up with preferred aftermarket parts afterwards. Hell even the sync infotainment on my 21 model is very modest (4" display I think)here's how i would process it....

Also once you get a VIN your order is locked in and changes can't be made. I would remove it and get it done aftermarket.I just got done talking to my dealer and the salesman and the manager recommended I leave the spray-in bedliner on the order. They seem to think it won’t remain at 27 weeks. Idk. I guess if it doesn’t get scheduled after 6 weeks or so can I still remove it and speed it up?
Ok I guess I will call them in the morning and tell them I changed my mind. Also once you get a VIN your order is locked in and changes can't be made. I would remove it and get it done aftermarket.
In my case there was only 16 days between the blend date and delivery to the dealer in Calif. The spray-in liner was installed between the blend date and the arrival date. Of course this is before COVID times. In "normal times" when I ordered my Ranger, way back in late 2018, adding a factory bed liner added 1-2 weeks to your delivery.
