FX4 Skid plate on a 2wd. Yup!

FX2 is mostly an appearance package, not a functionality package.

I guess get a 4x4 if you want 4x4 armor. Then again, my fx4 has a plastic gas tank skid plate. Not sure what that’s gonna protect against.

i have to say, IDK what the 'front underbody gaurd' might be, other than the bottom of the truck. As bare as a naked baby under there. the plastic piece is not any type of anything. rest of the stuff is there though.

Locker is cheaper on its own. People tend to replace shocks and tires, and I think you can activate the screen with forscan. Before they cheaped out on the skid plate it seemed like a decent deal, now it seems overpriced for what you get. Not terrible, but could be better.

Yeah, but just get the package and be done with it. 99% of my time is on road, so see no reason to haul around an extra 400lbs of 4x4 junk i don't use. This truck is fine for the occasional dirt road fun. Since we're talking FX2s- the FX shocks it comes with are absolutely horrid. Change them immediately to the Bilstiens or what is the other brand. Night and day difference in ride quality.

At which point...why not just get the locker and not fx2? I guess if you really really like the off road screen?

Not all skid plates are the same. I got a XLT sport. Came with a black half metal front plate, tranny guard and an air dam with tow hooks. I swapped out with a Lariat FX4 owner for his silver full front plate. He got my half plate and the air dam.

I'd have to agree. The FX2 Package lacking the Skid plate is a let down, but the tires are an upgrade. Screens are no big deal, Truck angles and power per wheel. That being said for the cost, it has all the upgrades to take truck on some medium light dirt playing, from the factory. and FX2 looks cooler than SXT. The Shocks are kidney kicking horrid though, worst i've ever seen, but an easy fix. Get the 2 4x4 tow hooks, 2 skid plates, front and trans, and off you go. I'm extreemly happy with the truck.

Does my 4x4 xl e-locker truck have any skid plates?
Can they be easily added?
Are fx4 skids a direct swap, like there’s brackets already there to secure them to?
Are there aftermarket options that work better?

I noticed that when I was under my truck the other day. I guess it would deflect a rock, branch or other debris that was thrown up. Definitely not going to stop boulders or rocks on a trail if you come down hard enought.

Kinda agree. The lack of skid plate makes it disappointing. Kinda wish I now skipped the fx2 and just got the rear locker.

You can get if separately. But for 595$ it's still decently. For some who has plans to replace shocks and tires there could be an argument
