I was expecting the interior to be all black, since I ordered the Black Appearance Pkg, but when we picked it up at the dealer, I was unhappy with all this Silver on the dash... Not a fan of Carbon Fiber, but I'd buy one of those pre-cut kits and install it, if I could find a kit with everything.

I've also seen the CF steering wheel cover, but I wish it were in Black...

I also cannot find a kit that covers that massive Silver piece above the glove box?

I also don't like that little chrome trim around the AC vents...

My stepfather picked up a '21 Lariat Ranger a few weeks ago and I was surprised that the same dash pieces in his truck were almost Black?

I'd be happy to swap with someone, if they wanted too or any ideas on how to install some vinyl or is it worth painting?

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Take it off, paint it or wrap it, re-install.
Wasn't sure how the wrap would do around all the angles and the "RANGER" in that one panel?

Plasi-Dip?
Never had a lot of luck with Plasti-Dip... I don't want it to peel off either. I'd prefer it vinyl wrapped. Unsure if I should try it myself or pay someone...?

I painted mine satin black with a satin clear.

The chrome vent trim was more of an eyesore to me than the silver plastic, but all of it get painted. The trim pieces on the vents pop right off.

I still need to do my door handles and center console trim.

Two of the dash vents are a PITA to get off vs the other two, so I just left those on and taped them.

That's awesome looking! I may just do this instead! What brand of Satin Black/Clear did you use?

I don't like the chrome trim around the vents/shifter either and that may be why I want to change it. What about the actual door handle openers and steering wheel trim? I doubt I'll have time this weekend to do it, but it'll definitely be on my list of stuff soon!

Seemed to work well for @TopoRanger

After seeing the dash put together and have driven in the daylight I have come to absolutely love the orange dash. The topography lines that are faint and are raised just enough to add some detail. Now its time to work on the doors and steering wheel.

The chrome bits on the vents will probably need painted like @OFC Ranger suggested.

I used plain old Krylon two in one paint/primer spray paint then the clear coat same brand . The age old saying, paint is in the prep, not he name on the bottle.

Edit: Can anyone give insight to removing the steering wheel trim? Does it pop off or does it require loosening the airbag like on the F-150? Also is the center logo on the steering wheel held on just by adhesive?

This thread is perfectly timed with my vinyl turning up, closer in colour to my painted parts than I expected.

Now I just have to figure out how to put the whole dash apart! Oh, and how to do a decent job wrapping .

I definitely learned a lot from mainly the wrapping part of it. I’ve had the dash tore apart a couple times before and seems to get easier and easier. But I will be wrapping the main passenger section over again due to one part lifting up. I think I trimmed it too close to the edge while the wrap was under tension. But it’s not a top priority right now. Bed camper and bed parts are the focus now. I’ll definitely update this thread when I wrap that section again

So SURELY, someone can show us all how to start ripping the dash apart. Or are you guys waiting for me to break something first? Lol

I’m still nervous after yesterdays door handles. Easy enough to do a second time, but on a brand new car, I really didn’t want to be calling my dealers spare parts. Dept two days before Christmas!

@TopoRanger, we were both posting at the same time. Any pics or tips to removing the dash much appreciated man! Love your work so far, looks amazing!

Screw it . Let me work the night shift this weekend and I’ll tear the dash apart on Monday. It’s not tough. The biggest challenge is the center section and remembering the panel order. I do happen to have some extra orange vinyl wrap so I’ll go ahead and redo the topography then wrap that section again

As much as I admire this, it’s Christmas mate!

That’s correct but someone has to work and keep the lights on at the nuclear plant! Haha
