I have also used 5 star since 2011

5 Star has been terrific for me. I've used their tunes on 3 turbo F-150's and 2 Rangers. I find customer service to be excellent. Their pricing is also very good.
My experience with tuning Ford trucks goes back to 2011. Livernois has a good reputation, the only complaints I ever heard about them were about their proprietary hardware at the time.
The other tuning company regularly named in this thread actually had a very spotty track record, their tunes made good power but they had a host of other problems including damaging engines and a reputation of bad customer service. Checking the F-150 forum archives will confirm this.
I do not know the very recent state of any company, other than 5 Star. I stick with them because of the history I'm aware of.

It's odd nobody mentioned the OZ tune... The one tune suits all tune.
This is the first time I have heard of them. Just looked them up. It seems to be a combination of a few tunes for a good price. Only problem I see is I dont know how long the guy has been doing it so the reliability part is on the table for question. Not calling it junk, just not really known out there.

Does everything you say end in "not calling it junk"? It's really weird because they're another well known tuner for the Ranger. Especially on fb. I have livernois. It just gets old swapping back and forth for performance and tow. I don't know how they have a one tune E30 to Tow all in one? Livernois says it's not possible but Oz says yeah it is.

Why is the " not calling it junk" there? So no one thinks I'm trying to shit talk it which seems to be common around here.

Also different companies will do what they feel best. One thing to remember is "most" performance tunes it is not ok to tow with. This isn't something new and I'm sure there is a liability thing behind it too. Also I'm suprised you switch between tunes with Livernois. As mentioned before I loaded the tow tune in and just stuck with it for a couple of reasons. I will tow from time to time, I can put just about any fuel I want and it still has good power. And lets face it, the transmission relearn isnt fun.

Because I don't tow very often. And the performance to tow is like E30 to the performance tune in my opinion. It's just not the same. If I'm paying for premium fuel I want it maximized.

And there is a problem with that as well. Ford has approved fuel with up to 15% Ethanol for these truck. What reason exactly? Not too sure as I wasn't part of the development team. When Livernois does thier testing they do check things like the HPFP pressure vs flow with different fuels. Due to such they have already said that until they have thier own HPFP for the Ranger don't expect a tune for any Ethanol above 15%. How long until that happens? Couldn't tell you.

Yeah sure. All manufacturers say that. I ran a E30 tune reliably on other vehicles too.
-2016 Gti
-2014 Veloster r-spec
-2007 Speed3
None were high ethanol rated from factory.
According to the manufacturers every aftermarket part will make your vehicle blow up ???

Not a convincing argument. It would be just as accurate to say that you ran a custom tune on any type of non-approved fuel, and sold each car before expensive failures occurred. It would be nice if all engines were “flex fuel” designs, and could run high-ethanol blends for the life of the vehicle without problems, but that day has not yet arrived.

They all ran strong... Obviously others have ran them longer than I have. I go based off many others with good luck. Besides who keeps there vehicles over 3-5 years anymore? I sure don't! Well reputable tuning companies do most of the R&D and put them out if they're reliable. Nobody is forcing you to customize. Stay stock then. Because there's always going to be a argument over every little thing that isn't stock. Tell me why Ford put such shitty suspension on our trucks? I bought a truck not a boat!

You're missing the point. You claim to be running E30, and dismiss the manufacturer's warnings about the high ethanol content. You offer the claim that you ran higher-than-recommended ethanol blends in several cars without incident as some kind of proof that it is actually not harmful to do so. It is a fallacious argument. You don't have enough experience or data to support your claim that it will not harm the vehicle. You seem to think that this tiny collection of anectodal evidence is proof that you know better than the engineers and materials scientists who design the fuel systems in these cars. It's hogwash. You got away with it, and passed any potential problem on to the next owner. That's not success. Anyone considering following your lead should think twice before doing so. Over time, using the wrong fuel has adverse consequences. If you're planning on keeping your Ranger for more than a few years, use the correct fuel.

I feel like people on this forum like to disagree and argue just for the sake of it. Dude there are litteraly THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of people running higher than oem spec ETHANOL in their vehicles. Go argue with them!

Lol this forum has been great for years I've just recently seen you step in bashing mishimoto every chance you got. We all have different opinions I enjoy reading on this forum but this thread in particular is a little rough.
