What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I peeled the Hankook AT/M off my truck (only 900 miles on them) and put 4 Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV 255/70-18 on the Black Pack rims, with a 2nd hand but unused 275/70-17 Wrangler to replace my spare. The spare is now big enough for the new tires and my summer 285/70-17 set-up.

Spent the day exploring in the mountains. Went up a little in elevation and found some white stuff to play in.

I went fossil hunting, and parked off road in a place where I never would have tried it with my Metris cargo van the Ranger replaced. It's nice to be back in a pickup, with its larger tires and better ground clearance.

And fishing today. This bass weighed almost six pounds. It was my first time towing my Pro Team 190 TX Tracker. The Ranger does a great job towing.

It’s funny because my girlfriend and I saw you guys pass, and she began to laugh when I said, “oh my god please take me with you.”

We would’ve hung out more in Helen that day, but with the weather being as it was, I wanted to set up camp before the rain started again.

Oh man we stayed in Helen most of the day haha. My buddy was on his bike and was wore out from the 100 miles the day before. It was quite the weekend.

Took a bed load of cardboard to recycling box* next to grocery store.

Figured that people used to go to church on Sundays to meet people, but nowdays they all gather at the cardboard recycler to discuss while dumping the pizza boxes before going to the shop. How the culture changes.

* = Day's useless fact: It's a 20ton demountable hydraulic palleting unit with 4G remote monitoring and fill/error/maintenance alarm. When it hit's 80 or 90% they drop in an empty one and take the old to recyicling yard for emptying and daily maintenance.

Previous entree to the cardboard recycling logistics market went belly up last year. I'd guess the traditional bin with fill radar & remote control was predecessor and was phased out when these started to show up 3-4 years ago.

Now they've also started to replace the trash bins with compactors (5000$ a piece tho)..

We cut up one of the trees still in the yard from a storm we had this summer, and hauled it into the woods.

Took some people to COVID test. Roads were covered with that white stuff some people like. From the uncleared hood you can see that it was but ~0.5". Prolly melts by end of the day.
