Does this engine sound normal?

2021 2200 miles. Drives fine no issues at all. But wanted to look under the hood with it running and what a racket. I’d imagine something is wrong? Vid is after it had been running 5 minutes and a couple min down the road.

Sounds normal. Direct injection components make a racket.

well that’s good to hear as it drives great. Especially anywhere from 40 - 85 mph. Truck loves going fast. But I mean when I stuck my head in there was like one of those old school alarm clocks. Or the beginning of the song “Time” by Pink Floyd.

You can also buy an engine cover from Ford. They used to include it with the Lariat trim but no longer. Benny at Levittown Ford can get you a discount compared to your dealer, or you could use Fordpass points to purchase it.
It does reduce the noise somewhat but not completely.

It is quite noisy with an open hood. High pressure fuel pump and injectors are vey loud. Waste gate going and fan noise is quite the symphony ?

Mine sounds exactly the same. I've been driving it for a year now and nothing's exploded so I don't worry about it.

Not the best philosophy on a brand new vehicle but I tell myself that when I get paranoid about mechanical stuff.

that was obnoxious. did you put your phone right on top of the HPFP?

The video only plays on mobile. On desktop I can only get sound but I just hovered my phone over the engine slowly from side to side.

As a follow up I had to go to the dealer as a back order item came i had been waiting on arrived. I mentioned when they had it to make sure all is good as engine seemed a little loud. As expected they said all is normal. Said something like all fluids were flowing normally or whatever. They didn’t mention engine cover but I said maybe I’d get one & they said yeah may help…..
