My guess it will cut into them some with the better mpg and roomier interior. At least the sales will still go to Ford though and not another manufacturer like Toyota. :puke:
Yeah there's not much reason for commerical buyers to look at Ranger given the price point and closeness in performance.

I’m taking my son to our local dealer to order a hybrid maverick on Thursday. He’s 20 and graduates tech school in May. It’ll be perfect for him. Back seats to fit his friends, a bed to throw shit in, not powerful enough to get into trouble, and a brand new truck for 22 grand. I figure by the time it’ arrives it’ll be about time for him to graduate and start being an adult.

There is an O'reilly auto parts by me that has a Base Ranger XL for a delivery truck. I know they still use the old Rangers a bunch. They should really love the new Maverick.

Is it a SCAB or regular cab? The Advance have regular cabs, which I didn't think was possible stateside. In the 90s I was a commercial sales guy at Pep Boys and we used the Rangers. I can't tell you how many times we grossly overloaded it with anti-freeze to take to the local Ford dealer.

It's a white SCAB

My modern Ranger is not much off from my 1997 F-150 and depending on configuration, it is longer.
Yeah. My buddy has a 2003 scab F150. I have a 2020 scab ranger. They really aren't that much different. His is certainly bigger, but not much. The cab is bigger, but I don't really think the bed is too much bigger, though it probably is.

Wow, that makes sense about the vehicles from the night before. Must of been that line before me that weren't 7am "appointments". People be multiplying everywhere honestly, eventually we won't be able to evade it but for the next few decades perhaps we can :please: I wonder what rural life is like, I mention this all the time in threads... Maybe because I daydream about it so often. So forgive me for mentioning it again.

I still don't trust the basic run of the mill techs at any dealership except luxury ones... but after 36k runs up I will be doing my own oil changes. Maybe a service check up around 50k and 70k but that's about it.
Rural life is great!!!:)

Hello all,

I thought some of you might appreciate in person photos. Have fun! Last two photos is just me comparing clearance in a lazy way. And me being weird at the dealership.

Have a good week,
Brandon

Thanks for this. The Mav actually looks pretty good. Maybe I will wait a few years until it gets as big as the Ranger is now?

Hmmm. My Ranger is paid for. 4x4 STX with tow package. I could trade it in, get cash back and a brand new turckish truck.

J/K. Nope. Not happening. A Maverick would not do what I need a truck to do.
According to Google the Maverick has a 2,000 lbs. towing capacity. The Santa Cruz is 3,500 to 5,000.
My Ranger is 7,500 lbs.

The base Maverick capacity is 2000lb, with the tow package it's 4000lb. For the Ecoboost engine anyway. It has a 1500lb payload too, which is neat.

The Mavericks are gone  and I got my truck back 6 hours later!
I DO
like the Maverick….if that was out in 2019, I probably would have went for it…smaller and easier to drive?

And a more roomy interior than the Ranger due to the unibody construction. It is looking like a pretty solid truck for someone who wants what is basically a CUV with outside storage. Plenty enough to tow your small pop-up camping trailer, your jetski, or a small aluminum boat. 1500lbs of payload is perfect for picking up yard supplies for the average person.
Ford is going to sell these things like crazy.

I initially wanted the Maverick, but then I saw the Blue and Orange interior. That is sacrilegious as a Bama fan. :giggle:

The one full sunlight image I saw, the slate color was obscenely blue.

They will sell like hotcakes, but I am glad I went with my black on black Lariat instead!
