It's the loaner I've been in for the last six days. The new Ranger was delivered 8/16.
It's a 30,000 traded Ecosport. It would be fun if it didn't smell and it had an engine. Seriously underpowered. Lol.

Ok, still didn’t answer the EcoBox question- my’17 Escape is fantastic, so I wasn’t sure if you’re thinking even smaller like the EcoSport (was never a fan).

But back to the topic, having a brake pedal go down to the floor “easily” does not sound right. I’ve never tried to exert too much force when starting myself so curious on this one).

For the Sirius issue, I’m betting it’s separate and related to your Sync wanting to update as soon as it detects wifi, even as you pull out of the driveway away from the signal…

Hey man

I got a new ‘20 XLT in April that was a leftover. We’re being cautious about Covid atm, but when it gets better I have a plethora of build issues that warranty will have to take a look at. I wanna love the truck, but man there are quality control issues out the butt @ just 5k miles.

Like the other day I noticed one of the tag light’s housing was not flush. I touched it to realize that somehow the snap for the housing was snapped right off. It was just floating in the bumper assembly with only wiring holding it up. I don’t even know how you could even break that. Just crazy. So many little things like that. Never have experienced all this with any other new cars. After working through all this junk I feel ill really enjoy it though. Lol.

When electronics fail on a new car they commonly fail early. You've got some kind of electronic gremlin and once they find it your Ranger will likely be fine. Be patient with them and give them time to find it.

Keep pressure on Ford corporate with your case. When my rear axle started leaking badly at 64 miles/4 days, they ended up compensating me with a free Ford Protect extended warranty. It took about 9 days of pushing them to find the parts and get it fixed.

Keep it professional and hopefully they will do something for you.

Good luck.

This is two times your dealer hasn’t been completely aware - the Maverick has nothing to do with Michigan Assembly, it’ll come out of Hermosillo Mexico.

The other one was above - big Bronco’s are still being made, but only those with the soft-top. He was right about the MiC hard tops though.

You bought this used right? (thought I saw something like that earlier) How many miles are on it?

Not a fun situation to be in for sure, hope it works out for you?
I've read in a few places that initial Maverick production would be shared between Wayne and Hermosillo. I do know that the dealer cannot order any Rangers for 2021 delivery.

Exactly. It's been entirely businesslike and respectful. I have to tread the line between forceful and appearing to be a pushover.

You're spot on about finding a replacement. The gm also told me that Michigan is now producing Maverick's. No more Rangers until the end of the year. He only has one more Ranger to be delivered in 2021. I've told the gm I'll be happy to keep my truck if they can find, identify, and correct the problem. I do really like the truck. Meantime I'm driving a 30,000 mile Ford EcoBox that was a smoker's car.
Mavericks are built at Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly, Sonora, Mexico. Perhaps you or the gm meant Broncos, which are built at the same plant as Rangers; Michigan Assembly in Wayne, MI.
Your gm or Dealer Principal may have an allocation problem or some other problem, or maybe decided not to order any more 2021s. Dealers have until September 23 for Ranger retail orders, Fleet ended June 25th. Job one for the 2022 Rangers is slated for December 13, so the first ones will probably arrive at dealerships around Christmas or later. Long time if you don't have any 21s that are selling at around 9100 per month nationally. Keep working with them, and the zone rep.
Anecdote: I was selling at a Ford store in 1985, and was "spooned" a deal by the Dealer Principal (owner): a prominent, long time fleet buyer who wanted a Crown Victoria for his wife. I did all the grunt work and the order was submitted. Around 10-11 weeks later the car came in, but the two tone was wrong; they wanted light silver upper with dark silver below the belt line, and the car was vice versa. Customer was not at all happy. The DP was not happy, I was scared, and three zone guys came out for a chat, and ten days later, a correct Crown Vic was delivered to the store. So things can be made to happen.

edit: We were posting at the same time so I didn't see your statement about Initial Maverick production being shared by HSA and MAP. I have never heard or read that, and find odd, because the Maverick is derived from the Escape/Bronco Sport C2 Compact Unibody platform, while the Ranger & Bronco share variations of the body-on-frame T6 architecture. They share very little with the Mav other than the Blue Oval. Kansas City maybe, that's where the Escape is made.

You may well be right. I just read KC is shut down again because of the chip shortage. My dealer just got 7 Super Duties and we're in MA. He's getting calls from Texas. I believe Ford dealers have had a tough time this year. No inventory. When I first approached my dealer I asked about several Rangers within 25 miles, but dealers are refusing to swap. I'll keep working with this dealer and push the repurchase string at the same time. I called service today and a rep (not mine) said he didn't know what was happening with my truck but they're still "looking at it". I guess another trip over there is in order tomorrow. I appreciate your thoughtful comments.

Actually three time as far as ''Rangers not being built till end of year'', mine has a build date week of 9/26/21

Certainly.
I hope you do. We may be talking apples and oranges though. My dealer said that he can't order more 2021's for stock. He would if he could. Current lead time for an individual order is apparently 26 to 28 weeks and I believe it would be a 2022 model. I'm going to go check tomorrow.
