For those of you who have installed a Scangauge or an Ultra Gauge, can you share your mounting locations?

After a lot of trying different locations, I ended up just buying one of those $7 non slip gel dash pads and placing it in the dash tray. Good enough for right now and not permanent if I decide to change.

My OCD wouldn’t allow me to have a cable running up the dash like that. ☺

Don't have mine any more, but in my Frontier I had it mounted above the rearview mirror. They used to sell a kit.
LOL. I can't remember if our mirror even has space for that!
routed the 6ft cable up the a pillar and under the headliner.
Got the 3rd degree once during an inspection for having a cable disappearing up into the dash plugged into the OBDII connector.

I sympathize with you. Have seen many different locations, and all looked out of place....windshield, console, steering column....just no place that looks like it belongs there.
Maybe one day I'll see about drilling a small hole for cable in the dash tray .......only 6 weeks into having the Ranger and still playing around. :like:

Funny I just changed my location where I put it and I think this spot works well. I run the cable behind the panel that you can pull down for access to the fuses. Super easy. Two sided tape to mount it. I used the clear 3M so it peals off without residue if I need to move it.

I had it before near the grab handle for the panel to access fuses, was out of my way and I could monitor temps by looking through the steering wheel opening when needed. Helps encourage not being a nanny to temps but no matter the tape I used, in +100F temps it usually worked itself free and fell.

So far all good in this new spot I think due to smooth plastic surface rather than textured.

I liked my ScanGauge but like this better
1630514501363.webp

Still takes up the OBDII port but no wires to run.
Downside for Apple folks is its Android only.
