I was able to get a picture next to a regular Ranger, and I just can't get over how much better the Tremor looks. The hardest part is going to be breaking it in, this engine just wants to go.

One thing I noticed on my (very gentle) test drive to test garage fitment is that I had a lot of burning brake smell. I read in the manual to take it easy on the brakes for the first 200-300 miles, so I was. I'm not sure I've ever driven a vehicle with only 3 miles (my F150 was new, but had been sitting around for awhile and had been driven a bit). I'm not too alarmed, but curious if others are experiencing the same?

Burning smell is normal on new brakes. It's most likely your brake pads settling in. Should go away within a few days. You can also make sure your parking brake is fully disengage inside.

Nice, I agree. Looks way better than a stock one but also performs so great off road. Not that the regular FX4 was not capable though.

The brakes, likely just seating themselves. I was in AC weather when we got ours so I never noticed it. You might have just noticed because of the parking garage enclosed space and low miles.

Hey Guys & Gals,

XLT Tremor owner here, based in BC, Canada, had my truck for over a month now and I'm loving it. Did pretty extensive research before buying the truck, was very close to buying a Colorado ZR2 Duramax however decided the Ranger better fit my needs and I'm really happy with the choice.

Thought about buying the Lariat Tremor but i'm glad I saved some $$ and got the XLT, was thinking the manual seats would be an issue with my gal adjusting it everytime she drives, but honestly it hasn't been a problem. I got the technology package and I'm stoked on it, the adaptive cruise control is awesome!

Got the Ford Hard rolling Tonneau cover fitted, and also the Ford Perimeter Plus Security System with Remote start and that's a game changer for the XLT, obviously have remote start throught the FordPass app but its nice to have it additionally on the key.

Also personally added Smoke Side markers with LED lights and DeeZee Tailgate assist - well worth it for both fyi! Got some mud flaps on order too!

See Pics ?

Congrats, glad you are using the truck as intended.

I have been meaning to ask about retrofitting the remote start on the key, would come in handy on some occasions when I am camping without cell reception. Maybe after I do a couple other things first.

I almost ordered it with the remote start on the key for that exact reason. I spend around 30-40 days a year in an area with no cell service and it's mostly in October and November where it starts getting cold. Then I told myself, just walk 30 seconds, put the key in and start it. :p

Yeah and truth be told, the app start is so much more functional in daily life. With our other car, for us to be close enough to start it usually means I might as well have waited to start it from inside the vehicle. The app I can start it from anywhere in daily life, something our other vehicle can not do.

It's finally mine! And the most important mod has already arrived. The dealer was able to install the middle tie down hooks and do the spray in bedliner, which originally was scheduled for September so I'm pretty stoked. The ride is so much better than the F150. I'll miss the 34" tires, heated mirrors, and heated seats, but 2 of those 3 will be fixed as soon as finances and time allow. I have no room to spare on height, so the Grabber tires are here to stay, but I installed both of the heated bits on the old truck, so I can do it again.

Installing the heated mirrors may be more of a challenge. On the Ranger the XLT does not have any power/wiring in the mirror so you’ll have to figure out how to wire it yourself. I’m not sure if the F150 was the same way. The other challenge is that on the Lariat the heated mirrors turn on with the rear window defrost, which the XLT also does not have. I’m definitely not saying it’s impossible, but it may be a challenge to find a power source and wire/add a switch.

That's the thing, I DO have the rear window defrost on my XLT. I was hoping I could tap into that circuitry even if the wiring needs to be run.

Edit: I was just as surprised as you when I saw it had it (and the button), so I double checked the window sticker. I don't see anything listed about a rear window defrost, but I definitely have it. That gives me hope I may have the right wiring harness.

I believe the rear window defrost comes with the sliding rear window option. I haven’t seen many XLT Tremors with the option but they are out there. Running the wiring will be the biggest challenge other than finding a diagram/proper wires to tap into.
Good Luck! I hope it works out for you

Edit: looks like someone managed to do this already. Here’s the thread of their install.https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/how-to-add-lariat-heated-mirrors-to-an-xlt.10664/

I'll take pictures tomorrow. I have no sliding rear window, but I definitely have the heater strips and the rear defrost button. It was a very pleasant surprise.

Edit: pictures added.

Edit 2: 2021 XLT comes standard with rear window defroster even without sliding rear glass according to the Ford site.

Soon to be part of the group!! Ordering my Tremor today. I was in the market for a Bronco, but with all the delays and problems they are having I am going with a Tremor until they figure things out.

Saw one at a dealer and loved the stance, Sits as nice as a Badlands Bronco without Sasquatch. Cant wait!!!

I am doing the same thing! Dealer has one in transit that I’ve claimed and put deposit on. Going to 99 my Bronco Badlands and wait for mod top instead of MIC top. I think I’m going to love the Tremor! Just joined this group today and have already learned a bunch. I will be joining the Carb Grey group!

I did the same thing, bonus is now that I have a Tremor for our camping vehicle I can switch the Bronco from a 4-door to a 2-door since I don't need the extra room anymore.

Might do the same thing. With the towing capacity of the Ranger we are looking to trade out our small motorhome (can't pull anything!) for a camper trailer. Bronco would be just for fun when it comes in 2 years.
