I do that often as well, but strategically against other factors. If I can get my passenger side parked close to the corral, it leaves extra room on the driver's side for buffer, against a car who may then park next to me.My wife has a theory on carts. Not sure I agree with her, but it has worked for her.
She'll park right next to the cart corral.
Her theory is that one side is protected from neighboring cars, and anybody taking the time to actually put their cart where it belongs will take care with it.
