I saw someone here last week at the grocery store wearing a hoodie, it was 108 out at the time. I'm guessing they're a native and it still wasn't hot to them. lol

One day soon we're going to make it over to your beautiful state. My gf is part Hawaiian and has been there 8 times, me none yet.
A hoodie in that heat? That is just wild haha. It really surprises me sometime how well our body acclimates to temperatures after living in a certain area for a while. I still remember complaining when visiting my sister in AZ, but Sardella's Pizza and Wings made up for it. I don't even know if that place is good, but it was near her and we loved their BBQ wings and BBQ chicken pizza.

You definitely have to head over to Hawaii sometime, the vibe is much more relaxed and makes for a great vacation. Just make sure you go on-season, as you can tell I made the mistake of going off-season. Still beautiful, but definitely wish I had more sun days vs thunderstorms.

Now that I live here it'll be a lot cheaper for the flight compared to being back in MA. Right now I'm saving up for the Bronco and mod money plus the month long trip we're taking back here from IA. HI will be our next big trip and one place I've always wanted to go to and will make sure it's on season. Thx!

I will admit some stores keep their ac very low and it's freezing inside but she was outside in the parking lot still wearing it! I don't know how because I'm boiling hot with just shorts and a t shirt on. I just looked up Sardella's Pizza and Wings and it's out in central, northern and the east side of Phoenix but will have to check it out next time we're out that way. ?

Can't wait to see your modded bronco :) I bet the big HI trip will be an even lovelier time with the part Hawaiian gf, lots of good knowledge she will impart I am sure.

That is a good point on the AC, but I would also rip that sweater off the second that AZ sun and heat touches me :p Sounds good, let me know if their BBQ sauce is still finger licking good. :inlove:

A couple of things I noticed maybe affecting the weather in my Region. Crazy Harvest Moon's, super low tides. I live in the PNW region. Pacific Ocean. When chatting with others someone mentioned you do not here about the Sun's Solar Flares. We Human's are not even a blip in Earth's Time.
Sad, it looks like this will be the norm in the PNW. Public Announcement. Do your part. Snuff out your burning material. Its Forest fire season.

But those darn thunderstorms, I’ve never had a half second of visibility every windshield wipe on max setting until I drove there. Crazy beautiful lush areas though.
Indeed, we do have torrential thunderstorms periodically here, especially on the windward side of the islands.
I drove through one last February, the wipers on my beater Honda CR-V on high speed were useless and I thought I might need outriggers on the poor car to navigate the totally flooded roadway.
Avast ye matey...lol!

It's 100 degrees here today, which is actually nice for Vegas standards lol..
OMG! just 100 in Vegas this time of year? must be a cold snap going on there!
I housesat for my nephew sometime ago during July/August in Vegas, daily highs were 100+ and still cannot fathom how people can work outdoors in such heat, landscapers, roofers, construction workers etc.
Central air is a necessity during the summer, a pool helps out tremendously as well!

Another hot one today...forecast was a cool 96° but it hit 102° so far.

Had something unusual happen to our tortoise. He is okay on the dirt and rocks, but the concrete is a bit too hot it appears. Even though he spends the day inside with us, we usually feed him outside as eating results in pee and poop on occasion...easier clean up. So we put him on the patio which is shaded. He looked at his plate of kale and climbed onto of the plate and parked his shell and withdrew his legs Concrete was too hot for his feet...Now that is hot when your desert tortoise can't tolerate the hot patio... We brought him inside and cooled off the plate of kale in the fridge for a while and he happily munched away an entire plate of kale... Then onto a strawberry for dessert. Now when I pick up the little strawberry plate he has decided to give me a nose bump on my nose...a tortoise kiss, reptile style... The GV News reporter was here and caught it on camera...She also got a kiss on her toes from Tito as she was leaving... Tito will be featured on their pet edition later this August. Think Tito was trying for front page of the paper.... :)

When I was a kid the only air conditioning was the frozen food section at the grocery store. They didn’t have them for homes. We had a fan. 1 12” metal fan for the whole family. That thing could shred your fingers in a millisecond. A garden hose outside and that’s about it. We survived…. ?

What are you talking about? When you were a kid they didn't even have plumbing yet let alone running water. You used the outhouse and drank from the creek. ?

As a kid and helping my Dad around the house this was his "cordless" drill, instead of being rated @ just 1 amp, it was 1 arm power...lol
