Installed my Gibson dual exhaust. It sounds fantastic and looks great. I have been having a hard time getting one of the clamps to seal though. There’s 3 pipes that make up the driver’s side and im having issues with where the 1st and second pipe meet. Anyone have any suggestions or having the same issue?

Just installed the single outlet version this afternoon. I experienced much of the same that's been mentioned here - muffler was labeled incorrectly, and the pipes were a very tight fit - alignment was key. In the end I honestly couldn't get the muffler tip wide enough to slide over the rear exit. Going to look for a pipe expander so I can complete the project. Despite all that, the exhaust sounds great. I wanted something that was mostly subdued, but louder than stock.

Did you by chance notice which direction the internal baffles faced, toward engine or toward the rear of truck?

Should have been more specific, i was asking Brad about the direction of the baffles in the gibson muffler.

Why is that all the exhausts available use those ghetto slip fits and clamps?

On prior vehicles I've modified aftermarket exhausts, the high quality ones at least, go together with flanges.

Everytime I look at exhausts for the Ranger I get discouraged because they all go together with those janky clamps.

The reason for asking is mine are facing the rear also, and i think are way louder than everyone else says their exhaust is.
Anyway, there’s a post on here where another poster ask gibson the same question because their muffler, as well as mine and a few others were labeled wrong as to the inlet, and gibsons response was that the open end of the baffles should be facing the engine.
Yet i also talked to gibson and their response to me was the baffles face the exhaust side.

It doesn't matter. I did extensive research. Unless the muffler was specifically engineered to go one way and that's the only way it makes power due to some thermodynamic pressure crap, it doesn't matter.

Also Gibson doesn't know what they are talking about because you cant mount the 2.5 inch down pipe to the "side" they claim the baffles are on. It wont fit. The down pipe only fits on one side and one side only. You can tell because you can see the pipe shape from 3 to 2.5 inch for that reason.

My muffler outlet, (as it was shipped), was labled inlet, which according to said markings means it was manufactured wrong, and no, the way its manufactured you cant install it correctly according to labeling.
If it doesn’t matter the direction of the baffles, why have them in the first place?

Thought removing the factory muffler would be the hard part, the clamps sucked and the heat wrap for the brake lines frayed. Replaced that with a 20 dollar one and some heat tolerant cable ties but a year later I heard a loud squeal when it got cold. Had a leak, got mad and took it to a muffler shop and they welded all the joints. Otherwise love the sound and look.

Friend was telling me about Gibson exhaust systems, thought I would check them out. Curious is anyone on here has one installed and what they think of it. See link for 48% off.

Description in the link states "Minimal interior drone, Aggressive Sound", that statement makes me wonder exactly how much drone.
Probably because the Ranger is a 4-banger and the turbo itself muffles some of the sound. The sound clips I've seen on YouTube aren't real loud. I put a Gibson cat-back on the Sport Trac I had before with the 4.0 V6 and it was pretty loud with A LOT of interior drone. Slam-dunk to install though, fit perfectly.
