We did a road trip Aug 2020 in our FX4 SuperCab, about 9 hours of driving. What I'm finding is setting the cruise control @ 65 mph is the "sweet spot" for good mpg, we averaged 28 mpg (hand calculated).

Anything faster and the mpg stars to drop.
That is what l try to keep my cruise set on when I do my road trips, I usually average about 28. I get some dirty looks but hey that's what the passing lane is for!!!

If I were to drive 65 mph here they'd run you off the road! Heck I'll be doing 80 and they're still right on my bumper.

That’s the same here. The average speed is at least ten over and really that is slow. We also have horrible wrecks constantly in Houston.

I drive on alligator alley set the cruise at 80. Turn up the Sirius and regularly get smoked by a group of cars going 90+. People are hauling ass around here even in a 55 zone.

Yeah there's constant wrecks here too. There's a fire station at the entrance to my community and that's all you hear is the sirens when they're taking off to go to a wreck. It's always someone trying to run a red light and they got nailed. I always wait a few seconds and look really good before taking off when I'm the first one in line and sure enough someone's usually running the red light. I said to my gf that they were in such a hurry and couldn't wait an extra minute and now they just totaled their car and and it'll cost them thousands now between deductibles and higher rates and possible a law suite. Hope it was worth it!

We have a light at our neighborhood that is the same as you describe. Every one knows that when the light turns green to wait and then slowly go watching out for people running it. There is at least one wreck there a week that usually flips the car being nailed.

Ft Launderette to Naples. Its 75 West/East. Flat for the most part straight. Speed Limit 70.
80 is conservative.
What’s crazy is we have freeways here in Texas with 85 mph limits.

It's probably been 20 years since I've driven AA. My parents had a house on Marco Island and when we were down we would head over to Miami to watch the hockey games or just hang out there for the evening nightlife. It was very easy to find yourself doing 85 mph+ as it's just flat and boring. lol
