They call them TACOS hmm OK then the only good ones are TRDS. The One problem I have with that is it phonetically = TuRD. I can't drive around in a TURD. I do still have some dignity??!!
1 Turd Taco please.

For me the decision to go Ranger came down to MPG solely, but after driving it for a week (1.1k miles) I've come to really love the driveablity of it. It steers and commands the road just like my '13 Fusion used to, and the shape of the windshield and hood lends to much more visibility than my Silverado. The ride is much smoother than any Tacoma regardless of year or trim level, not as comfortable as the newer GMs but they only have 1 engine option that can really compete and at 45+k for a tiny diesel truck I don't think they'll move a lot of them

Wow, fellow members, please promise me to never let this forum regress to resemble that forum. I've read worse but honestly, the OP is just flaming and the masses are fanning the flames.
I'll cut them a little slack because most that are writing the really eye-rolling stuff seem younger and have not quite hit the maturity curve yet. The OP just doesn't seem to understand that buying a vehicle comes down to more then just what YOUR specific opinion is. People are finicky creatures and have differing opinions. The Taco is the perfect vehicle for some people while the Ranger (or other trucks) are perfect for others.

To call someone dumb for not agreeing with your OPINION is not only juvenile, but shows a lack of sensibility towards other people. There's no arguing with people like that because they can't distinguish another person's thoughts and feelings from their point of view.

The majority of the people on that thread seem to be just fine, but like anyone... are a bit biased towards their trucks just like we would be.

For those reading this from the Tacoma forum, I'm in Connecticut and would love to meet up with you guys. More than happy to let you drive my Ranger and get your own opinions on it or just hang out.

Real problem is that the diesel just doesn't make any sense economically. Between the higher initial cost and the higher cost of the fuel, you'll basically never break-even unless you tow heavy stuff all the time. (But in that case you'd still come out ahead buying a full size.) The only reason to get it is that their gas engines have a ludicrously low towing capacity, but I see it more as a reason to get a different truck. This coming from someone who's driven a diesel for 15+ years--the economics have changed.

That's my point, nobody that needs the diesel capabilities will by a diesel Colorado because it would be smarter to get a 2500 HD and yes any gas engine GM makes with less than 8 cylinders tends to be garbage

i am still deciding. The new Tacoma with power seat is a must had a 18 and sold it and seat comfort and position didnt work. Had a 16 Colorado diesel before that and after 56k miles on it i sold it. It was good truck but i am still not fan of the interior of it. RI did test drive the Ranger and the comfort is real good on the seats and truck over the others. I did test driver the Lariat and power seats. I didnt like the storage of the ranger at all and didnt like the console buttons the way they have them and small. The ride surprised me that i expected a real good ride and it was bouncy and steering was different but all ok. I did like the power and trans combo a lot it was best of all them in my opinion in how smooth and the torque. I think you cant go wrong with any of them. The main things i like about the Tacoma are sunroof/and dash layout and storage and lower bed and not tall bed. Also like the looks better on it but man the comfort in the Ranger and power and trans really are the best of the three there. The new Jeep may be good too but price will be 55k plus

Did you drive a FX4 equipped model? They do ride much more “truckish” than a standard 4x4 or 2wd. My opinion on the appearance.. you can always make it look better, can’t (really) change the power train. One of the main reasons I went with the Ranger, and the aesthetics really grew on me.

It's so weird to me that people want a sunroof--I never use the stupid things in the event a car comes with one, and I'd much rather have more headroom and get rid of a potential source of problems. One of the things I hate about the 2019 TRD Pro is that stupid sunroof that they won't let me take out. (And I also don't want the damn double cab.) Ford gives choices on stuff that actually matters to me (instead of offering bottom-end engine options that most people won't take anyway and calling that choice) but it's clear that peoples' opinions of what matters can differ a lot.

Very “first world problem” but Toyota/Lexus still don’t have apple/android play. I know it’s not typically a truck item. But for any 2019 vehicle, it should be standard feature.

That’s true. Android and Apple will be on the 2020 Taco for some trims though.

Toyota's entune in general is pretty horrible. The lack of android auto just means it's that much harder to get away from the lousy apps it comes with. What makes it a real PITA is that you know you're actually paying for that stuff and that it's hard to replace the highly-integrated electronics--better to just have an old-school dumb console that could be upgraded third-party for less money and better functionality.

I would not buy a vehicle that did not have CarPlay and Sirius. I haven't used FM radio in at least 6-7 years.

Also make sure the tires are inflated correctly. Lot's of people have reported driving tires that were over-inflated at the factory for transport then not adjusted by the dealer down to normal levels. Big bouncy problem.
